I've never been a fan of the heat nor the humidity. It's one of the big reasons why my stays in California, Texas, and the midwest were very temporary. It's finally starting to cool off out here... in the 60s for both heat and humidity. My brother lives in Austin though, so at least I have an excuse to go visit whenever I want!

I thought I knew cold when it would hit a bone dry 11 degrees in Lubbock... boy was I wrong. Trying to ride my bike to class in St Louis in February when it was -15 and snowing and my beard literally froze solid like Sanka in cool runnings... Fuck. That.

Well we have had the first causality of the war. I was packing up some munitions when I knocked over my go to Sierra Nevada Spiegelau glass. My buddy liked it and I tried to get him one when I went past time and they said they stopped doing them, guess I can just buy a new different one but that glass had been though a ton of IPAs with me. In better news below is a fabulous sour ale @FlintB sent me!!





Appearance - Pours gorgeous light cloudy yellow with a thin white bubbly head that dissipates to a thin ring. No lacing.

Aroma - Very mild fruit, oak, little but of vanilla. Not really getting much rhubarb getting hints of funk with a little lime.

Taste - Wow nice mild barrel notes, vanilla seems to take the edge off some of the sourness initially but it powers through at the end. I assume some of the tartness comes from the rhubarb based on what I have read but that vanilla just adds another level to the flavors.

Feel - Very complex feel, initially I think the vanilla gives it a smoothness but the tartness quickly provides a nice dry finish.

Overall - Super impressed with this beer, very mild delicate aromas but great powerful flavors.
