KoKo When I started, it was kinda sunny, windy. That first pic was a shot west, the second east, where I was heading back already. It took me less than a half hour to get back. I never saw that shit behind me until I got back to the trailhead.

Very gentle pour yields a 2-3 inch light tan head over a brown body with some thick lacing. Nose of strawberries, dark roasted malt, chocolate fudge, and molasses. Taste mirrors nose in a sour kind of way at first, real tasty middle, and then finishing with bitter chocolate. Nice oatmeal feel and overall, this took a few sips to get used to and decided I really like it. Cheers!

Awesome American amber! Aromas and flavors of big caramel, honey, brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, and light nutty/roasted malts; with some herbal, floral, grassy, citrusy, peppery hops. Light herbal/grassy/spicy hop and roast bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; great bready/grainy Munich malt creaminess; light sticky hops and chalky roast in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing hop/roast bitter dryness. Super drinkable, 5.7%. Absolutely pristine stuff here. Rich Crystal/Honey/Munich malt complexity with balancing earthy hops. Ellison still batting 1000 on everything I've tried, one of the best true to-style ambers I've had. Definitely buying this again, as with everything else.


Fantastic! Glad I was able to find a couple more singles recently. Aromas and flavors of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, nutty coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, fudge, marshmallow, vanilla, spicy rye whiskey, toasted oak, and dark bread; with lighter notes of coconut, licorice, molasses, dark fruit, smoke, char, leather, and tobacco. Touch of booze in the aromas as it warmed. Mild roast/char bitterness and rye whiskey/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and full body; with a very creamy, silky, velvety, and rich mouthfeel that is fantastic. Slight slickness, stickiness, chalky roast, whiskey/oak tannins, and increasing dryness. Lightly increasing warmth of 12.6%, with a touch of barrel booze lingering after the finish. Amazing balance of rich malts and fruity/nutty coffee complexity; with amazing barrel integration. Not overly boozy/drying. Look forward to the return later this year. Definitely better with age. Super silky/soft feel with mellower tannins now, than when fresh.
