Technically they are “Mangalista” Imported from Hungary. They had about 4 when they opened. First thing I asked them last Nov is if we were going to eat them for Oktoberfest this year and they said that was the plan. Butchered 8 or 9 this fall. I am in the process of acquiring bone in chops

You know what's a drag? Coming home from vacation. You know what makes it worth it? Coming home to not one, but two boxes from @kemoarps

Much love to my house sitter, who rearranged the fridge without being asked

Unfortunately we had a grave injury during transit

Though I'm glad to report most of the beer made it

Part two will be in a separate post due to maxing out links.

    Part two, @kemoarps
First off are the two mystery beers and food items

I can't wait to crack into the coffee and candy. You must have been stalking me too because the Offertory sounds like something I would love

    Next are the cans

The Field to Ferment are Citra, Simcoe, and Centennial. Two of each. I loved this series when I got some from @woemad in BIF 6.

Final is the rest of the bombers

Great selection! All are new ticks to me. It looks like I have alot of drinking ahead of me tomorrow.

Lastly is the assorted tomfoolery and goodies

I love all of this. The whimsy is not lost on me at all. Mrs. Bl00 and I had a few great laughs unpacking this. We appreciated your packing techniques and supplies as well.

Thank you so much for the generous box Kestrel! You've clearly put alot of effort into this and it definitely is appreciated (and perhaps will be retaliated against).

That Taylor Ham is mainland gold. Fry it up, add an over easy egg and cheese, and you got yourself a yummy sandwich. I smile at the memories of the beers and food from Greg but my house still has nightmares of his endless assault of boxes.

First casualty from @superspak 's amazing box. Shared with the wife.

    Roaktoberfest Märzen by Rock Brewing.

Golden amber hued and somewhat opaque. White
foam rises almost a finger high, but quickly retreats to a meek white ring.
Smell begins with a rustic white bread note, a bit crackers, and some grassy, herbal notes. But one thing that jumped out at me was a hint of mineral water. That subtle taste is so distinct. It reminds me of when you have something from Hill Farmstead, the water is SO apparent...and glorious. I think that's what I'm getting here. A light peppery note peeks through as well.
Flavor is cracker, biscuit, mild sweetness akin to damp wheat bread. These are kept in line by a mild, drying hop note. Slightly earthy, and again I pick up a very pleasing mineral note. Reminds me of a Helles I once had in southern Bavaria.
Mouthfeel is medium to light. Carbonation is on the low to moderate side. Slightly slick on the finish.

Yep, the Helles comment is accurate. This beer was more of a Festbier than a true marzen, and I rated it as such in my notes. Glad you enjoyed it. The Batch is also a Fest, but properly labeled as such.

Just wait until you try Boss Tweed if you thought that was awesome . One of my favorite beers of all time. We are so spoiled up here on many styles now. No need to live in New England anymore

Actually the only beer Ive had out of the box is Black Tuesday. Its easy to gush over at 15% toasty, roasty, hidden alcohol..

You all are really too much. The latest entry demonstrating what an amazing group of individuals you all are comes from @MacMalt :

I'll admit I was confused at first. I pulled out the Industrial Arts Autumn Landscape harvest lager first and thought, "did we talk about lagers"? I do like some good lagers in the fall. Then I pull out the Industrial Arts Torque Wrench DIPA and think, "maybe we talked about Industrial Arts". I've liked every thing I've ever had from them.

Then I pull out a Plan Bee Barn Beer. AHA! I recall a conversation a while back where I professed my love for this beer (really, I love it) and recommended @MacMalt go buy out the store where he found it.

So the guy sends me not one but TWO bottles! And for good measure throws in a Paradox Three Grain Saison (never even heard of the brewery, looks right up my alley!) and a Singlecut Heavy Boots of Lead - awesome.

Thank you so much! Totally unwarranted and totally appreciated!
