Awesome box of heavy hitters @Vidblain ! Don't sleep on that Default.

Really? I had no idea that they were distributing outside the state. I do know that they are about to start doing some contract brewing to expand their production capacity, but didn't know that meant an expanded footprint. Guess I better check before sending it now.

That's probably very similar to what I tend to get, which I usually describe as sweat or BO. Oddly enough, I kinda like it, though .

The meat/sweat taste I really dig as well. Definitely not what the brewer intended, but I’ll savor it whenever I can find it!

I get it more from Mosaic and Simcoe, but I love it. What’s wrong with us? Don’t answer. That’s a rhetorical question

It's pretty limited, I think the last drop was 200 cases to a few select stores. We had a new distributor start up that specializes in out of state beers. There were even some Maine Brewing bottles a couple weeks ago. It's a chase the truck situation though.

I know I won't be seeing any down here, that's for sure, unless FL gets some love, too. Even then, Jax' distro is nowhere near as good as South Florida. :slight_frown:

I couldn't possibly get to many of the new beers @FFFjunkie sent me; there was just so much! By the end of a very busy New Beer Sunday, I only had two beers he sent me.

Well, this hangover isn't going to cure itself, so for my first beer of the day, I'm definitely breaking into another. This is Rye Hipster Brunch Stout by OddSide Ales.

I had the bourbon barrel aged Hipster a few days ago, and I liked it a lot. I thought the bacon came out more than in Funky Buddha's maple-bacon-coffee offerings. However, I felt it fell a little short of them overall.

This one really flips the script. The bacon is barely noticeable, but overall, the rye whiskey treatment - very restrained and, I suspect, 9 months or less, as I also suspect with the BBA version - complements this beer impeccably.

It's much sweeter than the BBA version, although it's not quite as sweet as any of FB's offerings. I also think it's ... well, I think it's better. It's really fantastic.

I agree with your take: the rye hipster is better, and by a wide margin.

The one and only instance where you’re in the right and others are in the wrong. We need more on-topic posts, not less.

I find myself generally in agreeance with the consensus above. Sundays are for new beer... or new beers. I generally only post once or maybe twice a Sunday, but that's more reflective of my Sunday drinking habits: I'm usually doing other stuff as well or just getting around to it late enough that I don't have time to have more than one or two drinks. If there happens to be a week I'm drinking more, I'll post more. I haven't had any problem thus far with the frequency of anyones posting within the NBS spectrum. The main reason I don't post more on a given Sunday is just that I don't drink more.
Similarly to @TheDoctor my annoyance is generally reserved for those 'low-effort' posts where it's just a picture or where it's clearly not a new beer or a Sunday beer. And boy howdy do I show them when that comes up... I can get a little out of pocket, but when I see such examples... heck I'll even scroll past their post without hitting 'like!' I know it's drastic, but sometimes this passive aggressive northwesterner has to flex on em a little bit.
But as to the frequency of posts? Man do what you gotta. If someone is putting away a half dozen beers and writing a description for each one? Sweet, that's a half dozen reviews for me to learn about a potential new brew and get a little peek into the life of one of my fellow denizens of the internet Sunday new drinking pub. While I respect the self awareness and concern for others that this question (and the post that I assume inspired it from this past weekend) raises, I think that the concerns are unwarranted in this case.
That's just my two cents (buffalo nickels) (adjusted for inflation) (and currency exchange) (I think this metaphor is gone off the rails).

Yeah man, @FlintB broke me off with both the base Hipster Brunch as well as that Rye version and man oh man, the Rye in particular was a highlight within an incredibly strong field of beers. I've not had any Funky Buddha offerings (yet. @Dragginballs76 sent along the Maple Bacon Coffee Porter which has been a huge want for a long time, so I'll be rectifying that soon) but yeah that RHB was incredible.

This is why I questioned the Dec 1st cut-off for my LIF. I’m sure boxes will still be flying well into the new year.

I'm still not sure which way is up, but I found some sunlight today so my condition has been upgraded today to "probably not completely fucked".

Is operation "Everybody Bomb Sammy" still on?

I am sending a few more packages out- here and there as I get the dough but not too long as to wreck the momentum.
On another subject I totally agree with @kemoarps assessment on NBS. Its become a habit for me and I really enjoy the artistry put into the posts- little bits of whats happening in our lives and interested stories sometimes, but not always, connected to beer. If I could hit a super like for the many that put in the extra effort I definitely would. I don't see frequency of posts as a problem at all. More of a gift. That being said I will drink new beers during the week if I cant help myself.:grimacing:
