What beer are you drinking now? #2179

A half hour of incline walking on the treadmill to loosen up some post race legs. Next up a bottle of 2018 Odell Bull Proof bourbon barrel stout that I purchased here in the spring when I was house hunting. A nice accompaniment to this cold rainy day. It's on the sweet side, but has a nice barrel presence that quickly takes over in the finish. Raising it in hopes @guinness77 finds his doggo today. Please keep us dog lovers posted.

 

Goodfire Brewing 7.8 NEDIPA.

 

Light yellow color with white cap and lacing.

Aroma of tropical citrus hops. This is not a pungent aroma but is dense enough to cover up the grain.

Taste of earthy, herbal, tropical citrus fruits and a touch of pine. Rather complex array of flavors that work well together. As in the scent, grain flavor is notable by it's absence. Low bitterness (18 IBU) that finishes clean and refreshing.

Working my way into lunch with a transition to the IPA . . .



Beautiful gold color with bountiful white cap that is fine grained and leaves good lacing. I wouldn't call it hazy because I can see my fingers clearly through it, though it's not exactly clear either.

Fairly light aroma of mild malt, citrus hops and a touch of pine.

Taste is hop forward with mild malt underneath. Some malt sweetness, citrus and pine dominate.

 

So sorry to hear that news. Hope you find him soon and in good condition.

Beer #4. Thanks @Dragginballs76 ! This is delightful. Delicate, but still packed with powerful fruit flavors. Reminds me a lot of Veil’s fruited sours...but with a little lighter body.

 

Deschutes - Chasin' Freshies Fresh Hop IPA (2018 vintage w/ Strata hops).. cheers!

 

Nokomis Pale Ale 5.5% hoppy and some citrus notes and taste.

 

I think I'll stay in Belgium for another...
