Northern Pike and Walleye. It's part of a collection I have of retired lures that were mine, my dad's and my grandfather's.

Three beer post to a page is probably interpreted that one is a fun loving guy. More than that, it may be interpreted that one is a drunk.

I hope all is well and you are enjoying yourself. Let me know when you get your sorry ass near Richmond again so can bend our elbows at the bar a few too many times.

Enjoying the hell out this beer from Atlanta Brewing Co. in collaboration with Max’s Lagers. Base beer was a barleywine but this is fermented with lager yeast & aged in bourbon barrels.

    Kentucky “Beer Dad”
Lager-wine” aged in Buffalo Trace barrels.
    11.8% ABV

Unreal flavor in this one. Bourbon, toffee, raisins and figs. Complex and so enjoyable, don’t know how much distribution this got outside of ATL but it’s phenomenal.

    Cheers!

Just when I told myself I wasn’t going to spend anymore exorbitant amounts of money on Evil Twin beers. They do this...now I’m gonna have to be on the look out. Haven’t had a nice black ipa in years.

At my neighborhood brewery - Chapman Crafted. I left fairly impressed. From left to right we have a Kolsch, California Common, a Citra IPA, and an english Mild. I like that they have a very diverse menu. Only the Mild was a letdown. Cheers:

It's also really, really good. Could use more representation of the malt, but they definitely have the "IPA-first" mentality that I think is crucial in separating a black IPA from a hoppy stout.

Although ... since I'm still the only review of this beer, I'm afraid that breweries fleeing away from the style seems to be justified, even if I like them. :slight_frown:

Now I've moved on to Blackjack from Skullcamp. The first proper black IPA I've tried, and its leaving a good impression so far.

I saw that our local Growlers-to-Go had an Aslin beer (Vapid DIPA) so I just had to have some. First time I had seen Aslin in Richmond. @cjgiant got me hooked on the brewery awhile back when he gave me a bunch in a trade. I have not had my Aslin fix since.

Well, when the guy was filling the growler, the keg kicked and gave him a bath. There was not enough left to filled the growler so they gave it to me for free even though it contained at least 22 to 24 ounces of beer. They wouild not accept any partial payment. In addition, I bought some VA cans and got 5% off for being a frequent customer (I am not so sure I should be proud of that).
