Never mind, Greg- something nice actually happened to me while I was on the way home from the Island of Staten tonight. Here's a clue:

be back in a bit when I get it all unpacked .

I am finally past this stupid cold and my palate isn't wrecked. Time to start killing some of these awesome beers you all have sent. First up is a beer from @WesMantooth:

I have had this once before, but I didn't review it, so I figured I would give it a go.

Look: Nice dark gold color with a 1/2 inch off-white head that fades quickly. Decent lacing throughout.
Smell: Bitter citrus notes with a ton of dank hop notes. Also getting a good amount of sweet malt smell and some pine.
Taste: This is a good old fashion hop bomb. Getting some light malty sweetness and a very light hint of alcohol, but the hops are covering it well. Definitely some citrus tons in there as well, possibly a tangerine taste.
Feel: Medium to full bodied feel with a great dry finish.
Overall: Really solid triple IPA here. I like that it hides the sweetness and alcohol well, and that it's hop forward.

    Thanks Corey!

So I came home to an incredible ninja box from @WesMantooth this evening:
Those Wooly Pig bottles are even cooler in person! I'll definitely be tearing into some tonight, that's for sure (there's a Schwartzbier, Rustic Helles and Spezialbier). But not only did he send those, but a Bodhi, Urban Artifact Post Card and Bell's O'fest. Plus two kinds of mustard and Uncle Mike's beef sticks! What a fantastic pick-me-up at the end of a not so great week for me. Thank you so much, Corey, my weekend is off to a great start!

    Let's party, Ohio-style:

I noticed a touch of alcohol on this bottling. Which is probably a good thing because the last couple batches were more like Bodhi and waayyy too easy to drink. Like I just drank a 4 pack of 10% beers in the first half and my wife is mad at me because I’m drunk already too easy.

Can never have too much mustard!

I have been wanting to send you the Schwarz for awhile but was waiting to get a howler of the Festbier. The bottles were a nice surprise based on another one of my suggestions to them. They have a Bock bottling coming in Nov., but I am going to keep bugging them about the Roggenbier.

I know we're not supposed to be doing math anymore, but I was figuring if I combine the beef sticks with the mustard there must be like a dozen combinations or something...

It's the perfect weekend for a festbier- it finally feels like fall around here- so thanks for including it. And a bock on the docket? Seems like a really special place- don't take it for granted (I'm sure you won't ). Thanks again- these beers are so up my alley it's not funny!

Another from the awesome box from @WesMantooth:

I believe this is a new tick. I think I had volume 1 of this and now this is volume 2.

L: Golden color with a good amount of white head that last for awhile. Good lacing that sticks for awhile.
S: Tropical fruits up front followed by a nice earthy pine scent and a slight smell of hops.
T: This is a nice hop forward beer with tropical fruit notes throughout and light bitterness from the hops.
F: Medium to soft bodied with a slightly dry finish.
O: Really solid IPA here, would definitely drink again.

    Thanks Corey!

In other news today i just got my shit blown off by @2beerdogs !

    Derek,

1st and foremost I want to thank you. Thank you! this box you dropped on me is ridiculous. And the fact that it’s the 2nd is unbelievable. I’m not exactly sure where to start, so I’ll start with the pics....

My God is this box absolutely over the top.

I cannot wait to start tearing into these!

Jan the Radar has been on my radar ever since I’ve heard of it! (Along with all the other Bottle Logic)

PB and Thursday, Chocolate Rain and Grey Monday as well! Crazy, just crazy!

The bacon looks awesome! The metal bruery sign will be hung in the new house soon!

Thank you again Derek, I will try to pass your generosity on!

I know. It’s like I stalk you on the other threads or something.
Speaking of the Oktoberfest thread. I haven’t updated my American samplings. The Sam Adams, which I always thought was solid to really good, was disappointing. The Bell’s has a great feel and finish, but might be lacking a bit in flavor. Have to have another though because I tried 5 all one night

That is a ridiculously awesome box of Cali goodness. Great job @2beerdogs. JTR is one of my favorite beers.

Hot damn, this is really good @WesMantooth ! They totally nailed the feel and finish, which is the most important part, and the flavors (pumpernickel, dark cocoa, spicy hops) are clean, clear and spot on, and it's gentle enough to drink all night long. I'm very glad there's a second bottle waiting in the wings .
