Moderate to vigorous pour yields a 1/2 inch, extremely light pink head over a red wine colored body. Nose of blackberries and white grape. Taste of blackberries and white wine with a very nice wine-like finish. Beautiful! Nice feel and overall, this is going great paired with my baked salmon. Cheers!

Finishing my stash of this, it’s as good today as it was in August, IMHO.

 

My wife and I went down to Myrtle Beach this past summer and are planning on North Carolina next summer. I will take a closer look at OBX.

My one-woman fresh hop fest continues with this 4-day old fav from Lagunitas.

Looks like today is "photobomb your beer with your Leper art." I love the whimsy of his drawings--and I must say that @LeperJim is particularly gifted at drawing mushrooms. I think he's definitely a contender to be the official portrait painter for POTUS 45.

 

This week was two months. Been vacationing here forever and got tired of leaving so decided to sell the acreage and move. Good to see you back on the thread!

 

Hofbrau Oktoberfest. Fantastic

 

Octoberfest is not my favorite brew. Not bad but not near the top of the list. So, I usually avoid it. However, the bar had limited choices and so I thought I would try one. The one I had was brewed by Sam Adams. May try a local one.

I’ll break it down real quick: Noble Ale Works used to kick ass. Then they lost their head brewer and they don’t anymore. Back in the day, theywould release single hip beers called the ‘Shower Series.’ Nelson Showers, Citra Showers... etc. Anyway, this beer is a collaboration with El Segundo. El Segundo makes a beer called Power Plant. So what we have here is ‘Power Showers.’ On the bottle is no lusting of what hops are used. Ay Wey. Let’s give it a go:

You may not know what this means, but if the Brewers win their 12th game in a row tonight, it means free hamburgers at George Webb. If that happens, you might go to club tonight, and no one will be there, because everyone will be in line for a free hamburger.

 

This beer is absolute magic had to go to fucking Vermont to find it, go figure.

 

Nostalgia beer. This beer smells and taste like everything that got me into craft. Love it.

 

Barrier/Capt Lawrence collab. Pretty good. Nothing crazy.

Back home from dinner, having a good one I picked up in Wilmington Wednesday.

 

I would be happy to share what I know about OBX. Been going since 1974. Before kids, with kids, and after kids are grown. Went three times this year. Rented a cottage on the beach twice. Both kids and son in laws came as well as granddaughter and crazy Zeke ( daughter #1 and husband dog). The third time was just my lovely bride and me.

Awesome place. Awesome food. Awesome bars. Watch out for riptid tides and sharks though.
