Dude, I thought you were a baby. But you seem too close to my age. Man, I am so sorry. 1970. I graduated. Yep, 1974 graduated again. Uncle Sam was not happy.

    Singlecut/Inexplicably Used Umlaut.
I was overcome with excitement when I saw this on the shelf. After all, Singlecut started out as a lager brewery. They should be able to nail this, right? Especially seeing as it was 6 bucks a can. Yikes.

Is this a Festbier or an ale? Both are listed on the can. Website says lager so I guess I will believe them.

Mahogany body, hazy. One finger head vanishes down to...nothing. Oh, dear.
The smell and the taste are the same. The malts that that try to break through are dominated by an overdose of hops. Very spicy, and an overwhelming spearmint toothpaste flavor.
Medium body, medium carbonation. The soft mouth feel up from is followed, then beaten into submission by a muddled bitterness.
    Cheers. Go Knicks.

I know you know the story buit what the hell. As a kid, parents took us to Asbury Park and Atlantic City. As a teenager went to Seaside Heights alot with friends. I think I lost some brain cells then.

And when a horny college guy went to Long Beach Island to visit my girlfriend.

Thanks for conjuring up the memories my friend. You are OK.

Incredible NEDIPA. Amazing lasting head retention/thick soapy lacing. Flavors of huge mandarin orange juice, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, blueberry, citrus peel/zest, and light pepper/pine hops; with balanced wheat, biscuit dough, light honey/toasted malt sweetness; and herbal, floral, grassy earthiness. A bit more muted aromas than expected. Mild pine, zesty, herbal, floral, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; very creamy/silky/bready malts and light sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Slightly increasing lingering bitter dryness. Insanely smooth/soft feel, minimal warming 8.1%. Feels like mostly Mosaic/Galaxy. Insanely juicy and slightly dank/earthy hops; perfect wheat/oat/malt backbone; not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. Absolutely killer stuff, perfectly executed style example. 4.28

Stillwater/Oliver collab. Very nice nitro APA. Nice head retention/soapy lacing. Flavors of big mandarin orange, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, honeydew melon, strawberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, light pepper, and pine hops; with moderate wheat, biscuit dough malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Similar/muted aromas. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Light carbonation and medium body; creamy/silky/grainy malts and some sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing resin dryness, minimal hop astringent. Smooth, not overly aggressive, 6%. Probably would have been better without the Nitro, but really enjoyable. Nice Citra, Mandarina Bavaria, Huell Melon profile. Very juicy, and fairly dank/earthy hop complexity; nice wheat/oat/malt backbone, minimal residual sweetness from lingering dryness. 3.88

Picked two up in Santa Fe the other week, one for me, one for a neighbor. I should have gotten more! This is an excellent brown ale...

Well, it’s not local or independent but somehow they put out the best FH every year. It’s widely distributed, affordable and frickin amazing. That’s a win, friends.[IMG]

Dude, sometime soon you have to deal with Social Security and Medicare. If you want any advice let me know. Nope, not selling anything. Just an old drunk wanting to help his brothers.

I saw NMA in West Berlin back in the day at a three-day outdoor concert at the Reichstag (Bowie's 'Glass Spider' tour was one of the headliners for that event). Were they really banned in the US???

You know I'm just kidding. We've had some good talks about Stegmaier. Still love that beer. Wish I could get some of their pumpkin ale before it can no longer be had for the season.

For those who stuck around, this D-IPA is pretty amazing and look forward to its release each year. At $10.99 / 4-pk the price is right as well!

Some local lovin', brewed with Spruce Tips from PA. Really nice sappy, resiny pine on the back end.

Thanks @FlintB! Great way to start off my birthday, with a new brew. Only complaint here is it’s a tad thin, drinks like a 6% stout instead of a big boy. Great maple flavor tho which I am a big fan of
