My first Resident Culture Beer again from @Dragginballs76 Sorry for the dark picture.
I’m really digging this! Lemon juice, pineapple juice. Bit of pine and pepper finish.
    [IMG] Cheers all!

@r0rschach , this is an absolutely brilliant marketing campaign. Seriously. They should pay you more.

And I know I already mentioned it, but I really liked all the TPB you sent as well. Really good stuff.

If any other great new breweries want to get the word out, you can get our addresses from @beertunes .

I'd say that TPB is going to get a lot of pub from all the ninja packages sent out from @r0rschach . I'll, likely, review one for NBS, and maybe another tomorrow.

Wife's away for the evening so I can keep the reviews rolling! Next up is Fremont's Dark Star, another one thanks to @kemoarps

Funny enough, I received the BBA version of this from @woemad during the first BIF that I participated in. I haven't cracked it yet because of some special significance. My wife is a horse trainer and the first horse that she competed with as an adult was named Dark Star. He taught her alot, brought her far, and has a great personality to boot. Go figure, she and her parents are huge Dead fans, so their horses have alot of great names.

Pours jet black, 2 fingers of mocha head dissipating to one quickly.
Intense chocolate notes begin the nose, vanilla follows. Some coffee in the background.
Taste is chocolate and coffee, finish reminds me of black pepper, a touch of smoke as well. After taste has a soy sauce aspect, some meaty notes as well.
Mouthfeel is creamy, some mild prickling with the bubbles.
Overall this stout has great depth, it showcases a variety of nice aspects. I'm really looking forward to the BBA bottle after having the base beer. Grateful to have the chance to sample both.

Cracked a couple from this BIF tonight. First up a crowler from @WesMantooth:
    DankHouse Brewing Company
    [IMG]

Murky light orangish pour with a small amount of off-white head. Some lacing.
Spell is pineapple and citurs and dank hops. Also getting a little pine and a little white onion.
Taste follows the nose almost exactly. Still getting that slight white onion flavor in there too. The hop bitterness is more pronounced in the flavor.
Feel is light to medium bodied with a slightly dry finish.
Overall a pretty nice beer. I like the fact that even though it is a hazy there is a good amount of hop bitterness to it too.

    Thanks Corey!!

Also cracked this one from @Roguer

One of my favorites here. Nothing nails the smell of salt, bacon and maple quiet like this guy here. Always feel its a little thin, probably why I prefer wide awake by a hair, but the nose and taste are amazing.

    Thanks Andrew!

Thanks for all the love guys, it makes me really happy that folks are enjoying it. I'm just bummed that we didn't have one of our triple IPAs available when I sent those out, TIPAs are my favorite.

Pretty sure that is first use of anything "safe" related in any of these BIFS.

    Way to ruin it it.

I'm with Corey on this - a combination of minimum participation within a minimum time frame. And, of course, no drive-bys.

Should we rename the thread Turning Point Beer Reviews? Finally in from work and enjoying this one from @r0rschach

Orange pinkish pour looks like grapefruit juice with two fingers of white head.
Smell is primarily citrus to me.
Taste is juicy citrus, orange, grapefruit. Tart sweet strawberry is there in the background.
Full bodied, smooth, well carbed. The 9.2% ABV is nowhere to be seen. This one could be dangerous.
Overall an excellent beer, looking forward to trying more of these.
    Thanks John!

Just pick a biergarten in Bamberg - I'll be there sooner or later.

That kudzu's amazing stuff - we'd spray it with 2,4-D, 2,4,5-T, cacodylic acid, scrape it off the road with road graders - within a week or so it'd be back. We never thought of making beer with it...
