That Short's Lager went down quick being my first beer and all so on to the next. this one cme from @FlintB from Homes Brewing Confetti Cannon. I am getting something looks like no one else got on the nose mostly and some on the taste, vanilla bean. pretty strong for me on the nose which really added to my enjoyment.

Appearance 4.5 - pours hazy orange with big fluffy white head that settles to a thin cap. lost of spotty lacing around the glass.

Aroma 4.25 - Lots of tangerine sweetness, orange, i am getting a big vanilla bean aroma as well. Just a hint of booziness.

Taste 4.25 - Big juicy tangerine, and citrus peel, grapefruit. i still taste a little vanilla but no where near what I picked up on the nose. Finishes with a light pine and bitterness.

Feel 4.25 - Medium bodied slight creamy feel slightly dry finish.

Overall 4.27 - Really great tropical flavors with out being too sweet, light bitterness.

So, i got my ass up at 6am to come into work, to do a thing that maybe shoulda taken an hour. Hour-and-a-half, tops. Well, as I'm nearing the end, the decision is made from "above" that the thing didn't need to be done at all, and, please, could I undo it? Sure. But, Above says, as long as you're here.......

Well, my couple of quick Saturday hours (when I coulda been sleeping!!!!) turns into a 5 hour redundancy fest. But hey, farmers market is right across the street, and Atwood Ales always is pouring their fine beers (as samples) there while they sell some bottles. After a few healthy "samples", I roll back and clock out. Slide up to the bar, and have a couple pints. Oh jeebers, the Husky game is on. I scamper down to my hidey-hole, fire up the intratoobz box, and go for a look to see what remains from hit from @nc41.

Only 1 bottle remained, and i had had thoughts of holding on to it. Fuck that. This glorious bastard is going down. Now and solo: https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/63/355374/

I love this series, and can't figure out why I hadn't grabbed a couple earlier. But will now.

    Carry on.

Kicking back another one from @FlintB Softly Spoken Ryes a Rye DDH DIPA. I have been saving this one since I LOVE rye IPAs, this one does not disappoint. Tons of rye in the flavors great nose super easy drinking.

Appearance 4.5 - Pours pretty hazy deep orange with a huge soapy white head with excellent retention. lots of sticky lacing around the glass.

Aroma 4.25 - Big rye bread aroma, peppery, lots of lemon, citrus peel and grapefruit. Just a touch of sweet melon to add some depth but rye is the start of this one.

Taste 4.5 - Heavy rye presence, light spice, light but super ripe melon, malt and floral hops.

Feel 4.25 - Medium bodied well carbonated pretty smooth and easy drinking.

Overall 4.42 - i am a big rye fan so this one was great for me. Very powerful rye in the nose and flavor really easy drinking fr a 7.5%.

Always seems like orders from above come from people who either do not know what the hell they are doing or have no skin in the game and other than words they have nothing to do. i had one of these days Friday.

It was complete lack of communication. Plain and simple. For the most part, they trust us to use our judgement, and get things done as needed. But, sometimes, they have plans, and don't get us in the loop. Then, as we're in the middle of things......

I'm just venting. I love my gig, love a lot of my co-workers, am friendly with most all of them, count several among my close friends, my employers have pulled my ass out of the fire on multiple occasions, and I know how good I have it here.

    But, damn.

    I coulda stayed in bed!!!!!

Glad you liked it, and I thought it funny being in WA it was on your wants list, but hey. Love this beer as well, IMO it's a dominant beer by any measure.

It's one of my Perma-Wants. I can never get enough. Even the years I didn't really care for (cinnamon, looking at you) I really love. Think I've still got some XXII's, XXIII, and XXIV's kicking around.

Digging back into @strohme2 box and pulling out this Founder's Trigo Hoppy Wheat Lager. The flavor was really nice mouthfeel was a little more creamy than what I expect from a lager but I liked it.

Appearance 4 - pours clear golden color with nice white head head that settles to a thin film spotty sheets of lacing.

Aroma 3.75 - Citrus peel and mango light floral aroma. light malt and grain

Taste 4.25 - Floral hops and grains up front followed by mango, grapefruit and very mild bitter citrus peel.

Feel 4 - Not really a light feel actually pretty soft really smooth and boardering medium feel. little creamier than most lagers but I really like it.

Overall 3.99 - Well done lager great floral hops mild bitterness combined with some nice fruit flavors.

OK, so I just got back from finally finishing up my latest ink work: literally 7 years in conception, and 9 hours of time under the needle. I pick up two cases worth of beer in Jax, and arrive home to find a nondescript cardboard box.....

I'm not completely surprised, given the nature of this BIF, to be ninjad. I am totally shocked, however, that this ninja was trained in Pennsylvania.

Right here we have an absolutely incredible haul:

ALIEN CHURCH (a long time lust - not just want - of mine)
    Manayunk Chocolate Coconut Crunch Porter
    Grimm Present Perfect (Grimm!!!)
Other Half Mosaic + Mandarina IIPA
Other Half DDH Double Citra Daydream I-Oat-Cream-IPA (IOCIPA?)
(An entire brewery that is a major want for me, and there's two of them!!!)

Other Half Mmm...Fruit Dream Berliner Weisse with coconut, guava, and strawberry
(Strongbad never did an "Oh, there's three of them")
Tired Hands Invasive 3: Walking Stick IIPA
Storm King (the only beer out of the entire pack I've had before, and it's been a hot minute, too)

Wowzers, @CanConPhilly just wow! This is phenomenal! That Alien Church is chilling as we speak for enjoyment later tonight.

The sticker is already installed (floor tom, this time around):

And I must admit I don't quite get the 40 cents reference, unless it's teasing me for my penchant for sending coins. :grinning:

Matt, thank you so much. This was a complete and utter surprise, and very appreciated.

Cracking a beer I got from @r0rschach Regular Old Plumbus. This shit is money, really well done imperial IPA alcohol is well subdued great soft feel flavors lean more toward hoppy bitter than sweet which i like. We might need to set up some future trades for these beers you boys are doing.

Appearance 4.5 - Pour opaque like orange juice thick white head that recedes to a think ring. Sheets of lacing around the glass.

Aroma 4.25 - Overly ripe pineapple and orange, floral hops, touch of alcohol, grapefruit, little candied sugar.

Taste 4.25 - Lots of ripe pineapple and mango without the sweetness, floral hops, grapefruit, bitter citrus peel on the end. Looks and feels like a NEIPA but has well balanced flavors leaning more toward bitter than sweet. Great flavors.

Feel 4.5 - High side of medium bodied creamy smooth soft feel with a pretty dry finish.

Overall 4.34 - Very well done Imperial IPA other than a hint of alcohol on the nose the 8.2% is well hidden. great flavors very smooth and soft mouthfeel.
