Why do you have so many corks?

 

Whelp I got one brewed in Iowa apparently. Still brewed in July. I need to try it fresh to properly judge it. No more buying beer at the grocery store just to avoid an extra stop at Binnys

 

Good evening BAs! It's 2130 hours here in Bamberg and about 48 degrees. Tonight's New Breakfast Beer (Delayed) is:



A most excellent dunkel. I had it vom Fass at the kloster earlier today via 0.5L krug, along with an excellent lunch of lentil soup and weisswurst. Then I saw the 1L growlers (In pix) and decided I wanted one for my only non-digestible souvenir. Imagine my amazement and joy when I bought it and found it came filled with beer!

Took this beer to the bar to share with my buddy - “Pivot Point” Bier d’Garde and Oak Aged Ale by Barrel + Bean, Marquette, MI:



Fizzy and dry like soda water, big head like a Duvel, I smell/taste dried clove. Lite crisp finish. I like!

And a bottle share broke out...”Bearski” a Berliner with beets, lime and passionfruit by Hidden Springs:



“Coolship Plum” Farmer’s Reserve by Lindheim Olkompani:



Plums! Some dry straw funk, but more tart fruit.

And now JWB’s “Brutecart” a Brute style IPA with Rose grape juice added:



Very grape/white wine centric. Semi sweet, crisp dry finish. My takeaway is muscadine...

I "love" it when my wife pulls a random bottle out of the fridge and says let's try this. Then after one sip she asks "Why did you buy this?". That means I get to drink the whole bottle.

 

Well great now I need one before that movie comes out

 

I 've been hearing rumors for about a year that my job was going to be eliminated, this morning it happened, and I couldn't be happier. I busted open this CW BA Vanilla Bean Stout to celebrate.
CW has an outstanding Barrel program and this is just another fine example. It even comes in at a reasonable price point.
