Big Thursday night. Lasagna is in the oven, as I continue to sip through some new-to-me hops.

If you hear a ticking sound in the background, its because I've decided to tick some easy-to-find beers on the Most Popular Beers list - turns out I'm only 4 beers away from getting the top 49 (50 will elude me because its Deschutes' The Abyss, which is not available around here)...

    Without further ado...

Canning date was all smudged out, so not sure how fresh this was, but, ...much better than expected! Light, crisp, clean, smooth... Crackery malt backbone with some hoppy pine shellac and a bit of dry citrus rind... Moderately bitter, mildly sweet, amply carbonated and really refreshing... I think I killed the 12 oz can in like 5 hearty swigs! Don't know if this is gonna change my world view on session beers, but it might - totally possible to crush a six-pack of this without even trying...

Also decided to "cleanse my palate" after by checking out this salame...

Wow... Best item from Smoking Goose I've had yet - chewy meat, creamy with fat, little bit peppery... I could probably just slice this whole thing up and eat it in one sitting...

Moving onto the next tick, eye on the clock...

Magnify managed to brew a flavorful and surprisingly delicate 10.5% TIPA. This is really good, dented can and all!

Prairie Bourbon Paradise with 10+ months age. I'm liking this a LOT more than I did fresh. Tastes like chocolate bourbon. Wow. Should have bought more, and I will next time.

One of Treehouse’s new line of stouts. This ones called Expressionism: roasty chocolate goodness. Ringing in at 9%.

Once? It's a tough question, because if you ever drink FBS for breakfast, the one thing you can be sure of is that it won't be a "once" kind of occurrence. It's perfect! :grinning:

I know it's not breakfast, and VaS is definitely a breakfast kind of beer, but ... well, I'm in the mood for something like this, and it's not disappointing, to say the least:

Put it this way, half the beers are retired limited editions from breweries across the country. We've got a guy with bottled homemade mead, I'm basically in hog heaven right now.

Pretty nice tasting beer BA’s. Tart tasting tangerines and the honey comes through up front. Finishes crisp and a tad astringent.
