Something of an amalgam between an English bitter and an American amber, and vaguely suggestive of Belgian ales... That said, I've had better bitters and ambers and Belgians... Herbal and floral, with some light shellac and a bit of muted, deep citrus; smooth and rather flat-feeling... Not particularly bitter, but did have a mild coating feeling to it; and maybe mild-to-moderately sweet... A decent enough drink, but nothing that made me want another...

But then I sliced up some tasso ham...
This was awesome! The cayenne heat and the tender, rich ham made the beer so much better - lol - totally wanted more ham and beer!
Maybe if Fat Tire was always served with a side of ham...

    Cheers...

    I am having a blast!

    Rogue's Dead Guy Ale...
Lightly, sweetly bready with a honeyed finish... Little bit of herbal and sweet citrus, like orange, maybe some wood and clove and caramel...Some spice, mildly bitter, moderately sweet... Medium body-weight... Actually pretty enjoyable, but perhaps not something I usually crave... This was worth checking out...

My pairings are working out really well, too... Keeping the streak alive with...
This is a familiar fave - smooth and creamy but flaky and sharp; tangy with a light buttery, nutty sweetness and the graceful application of a little merlot...
Totally synced with the maibock - spice and malt and tangy cheese... Nice...

And still rockin' out with my boys from Iceland...

A big thanks to @Smokesnotes for this beer, and @Jason1221 for the glass! Thanks, fellas.

I watched this movie earlier today. If you like the David Brent character, you’ll probably like the movie. Though this is two hours instead of 30 minutes. It wasn’t great, but it was mindlessly entertaining with a feel good ending.

New Rockford cans remind me of Blackrocks label art. Delicious English brown. Nice fluffy head retention/lacing on the glass. Flavors of big caramel, brown sugar, brown bread dough/crust, toasted biscuit, and nuttiness; with lighter notes of milk chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toffee, raisin, plum, herbal/floral/grassy hops, and yeast earthiness. Similar/muted aromas. Very mild herbal/floral/grassy hop and roasted bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; very creamy/silky/bready malts; slight sticky hop and chalky roast. Slightly increasing lingering bitter dryness. No cloying/astringency. Very drinkable, 6.5%. Really spot on style. Very rich and well rounded malt complexity; mild fruity yeast and Willamette hop balance against sweetness. 3.93

Thanks @RaulMondesi for another Brut. Brouwerij West. Looks like an NEIPA. This was incredible! Lasting head retention and thick soapy lacing on the glass. Aromas and flavors of huge tangerine, orange juice, lemon, lime, grapefruit, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, light pepper, and pine hops; with moderate wheat, cracker, biscuit dough malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation, light-medium body, and fairly crisp finishing. Balanced creamy/bready/grainy malt and sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing resin dryness, no hop astringency. Super drinkable for 7.1%, not overly aggressive. Kind of a cross between NEIPA and Brut. Amazing Citra, Centennial, Motueka profile. Extremely juicy, and fairly dank/earthy hop complexity; nice bready spelt/malt backbone, with minimal residual sweetness from crisp/resin dryness. Huge fan. 4.28
