Fantastic sour! Nice head retention/spotty lacing on the glass. Aromas and flavors of big sour/tart/tangy blackberries, fruit skin/seed, raspberry, cherry, plum, apricot, lemon, lime, orange, red/green apple, currant, red/white wine, oak, hay, straw, and grass; with moderate wheat, cracker, biscuity malt balance; with light notes of oaken vanilla, musty/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tartness, fruit/wine tang, and light oak spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body, and fairly crisp finishing. Balanced bready/grainy malts, lactic acid, fruit/wine tang, and light oak tannins in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing acidic/tangy dryness, no puckering. Very smooth, not overly lactic, pretty refreshing. Awesome balance of jammy berries, Lacto complexity, and wine barrels; with perfectly balanced pale/wheat malts against acidity. Very impressive for just being kettle soured. 4.25

Thanks @Dragginballs76. This was excellent! Lasting fluffy head retention, thick foamy lacing on the glass. Aromas and flavors of big lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, peach, pear, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, wood, mint, and pine hops; with moderate wheat, cracker, white bready malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium-high carbonation, light-medium body, and moderately crisp/clean finishing. Balanced creamy/grainy malts and sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Some resins/rinds, light-moderate increasing bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Very flavorful/refreshing, 4.8%, not watery. Awesome Idaho 7 showcase. Very vibrant, dank, earthy, and fairly juicy hop complexity; nice pale/wheat malt backbone for the ABV. No residual sweetness from crisp dryness. Really well made. 4.08

Hop Butcher Mellotron w/ Mango (Azacca, Motueka, Simcoe). The mango is really well-integrated into the beer and makes the hops pop a little more. Some nice bitterness on the finish to let you know this is indeed a beer. So so good. Cheers!

Cheers to my Kitchen Aid, it turned 43 years old this week, it still kicks ass. Got it as a bachelor party present from a bunch of chef buddies the night of the Fisk homer in ‘75

    Pizza came out great

    500 ml. bottle.
    Bottled Tuesday, 10-23-18.
    3 days old.
Moderate pour yields a 2 inch tan head over an extremely dark brown body with very nice sticky lacing. Nose of fine coffee with a hoppy aroma of slight pine. Taste of coffee (cream and 1/2 tsp. sugar) with a definite hop presence. Nice feel and overall, a great little, easy drinking (5.6% abv.) coffee stout. Cheers!

Not sure, but I’ve heard of many different ideas on types of beers that affect people differently. This one is fairly clear for unfiltered. I might argue more experimentation is necessary if you only have one data point, but that’s any easy call from the cheap seats I’m in

I'm starting with this crowler of Bird Up by Oliphant brewing, sent to me by @Victory_Sabre1973 . It's a saison with lemongrass and turmeric. It's really good, nice and dry, starts out with a good amount of phenolic spiciness and hard lemon candy-like maltiness, but then quickly enough the lemongrass and turmeric bring on a great earthy/grounded component. Very much a yin/yang brew that works beautifully, and quite drinkable. Thanks again, James, I'm really digging this one even more than their other saison.

Here's another vid in memory of Tony Joe White, RIP:

Tony's fingerprints are so all over this one that you'd think it was Tina doing a guest spot on his album .
