Can't believe I missed out on the CFE powder geek talk last night, I was too busy stuffing my face with snacks and chatting it up.

I've never used CFE Pistol but that CFE223 is damn fine, clean burning, flat shooting, and temperature stable. 700-X was a fantastic powder in 45 for me until I ran out, now I'm running Hodgdon Universal, and Clay Dot for my 9s under a 115... Cheers

I might be back over to NBS once more later this evening. For now, a beer to quench my thirst that does not require much thought and that I’ve previously reviewed, before finally tackling a couple things around the house.

    NBS X Post #1

Good evening NBS, hope everyone is enjoying the end of the weekend once again. Nothing new for me one again. The recent BIFs have been keeping me busy on reviews, but thankfully was able to get some more new things yesterday locally. Shaved off my head this morning because it was getting thick and annoying again. Rather be bald honestly.

    Beer:

New brewery locally. This was fantastic! Solid head retention/minimal lacing. Aromas and flavors of huge sour/tart/tangy passion fruit, mango, melon, fruit skin, lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, peach, apricot, pear, pineapple, green apple, berries, white wine, hay, straw, and grass; with moderate wheat, white bread malt balance; light pepper/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tart/sourness, fruit tang, and light spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation, light-medium body, and fairly crisp finishing. Balanced creamy/grainy wheat, lactic acid, fruit tang, and light tannins in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing acidic/tangy dryness, minimal puckering sourness. Very smooth, pretty refreshing, 5.6%. Reminds me of the the Mikkeller SD Passion Pool a ton. Extremely juicy/jammy fruit and balanced Lacto complexity; with a solid pale/wheat malt backbone against acidity. Would definitely buy again. Amazing style example. 4.2

Milkshake NEIPA. This was fantastic! Great head retention/lacing on the glass. Aromas and flavors of huge juicy peaches, pineapple, apricot, fruit skin, grapefruit, orange juice, lemon, passion fruit, mango, melon, berries, citrus peel/zest, and light pepper/pine hops; with moderate vanilla, cream, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Mild pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, spicy bitterness; and fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body. Creamy silky, grainy wheat/lactose; light sticky hops and fruit tang in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter dryness. Very smooth/soft, 6%. Feels like a lot of Simcoe. Extremely juicy hops/fruit, with light dankness; balanced lactose and wheat/oat/malt backbone. Not overly sweet sweet from lingering dryness. They nailed the style as expected. Will get the new ones as they keep coming in. 4.2

Late to the game...we Three Zs and dogs went to St. Pete Beach Sunday Market this morning, then we moved stuff into/out of our storage unit in the big grey building across the street from our complex (the one in the background of my balcony/pool pics)...first beer of the day - Sue in the pool as I catch some late rays:

I may have a new beer for later...first a nap in the sun. Cheers y’all!

This is real good. But, a lot of times juicy means sweet to me and this is one of those times. 1 or 2 is enough for me. Need something bitter and crisp now.

Elephant Boss, an Imperial NE IPA brewed as a collaboration between Newburgh Brewing Co. and Rushing Duck. As you'd expect from its pedigree it's really good! Cheers!
