Roasted coffee aroma still after some months in the cellar, with a hint of whiskey and alcohol. Deep ruby-brown with a 1/2 inch creamy tan head, receding slowly leaving thick lacing. Smooth, but somewhat thin, mouth feel.

Rich roasted taste, with a moderately bitter middle and finish. Still has the coffee, bourbon, and a bit of chocolate in the taste. It starts out a bit on the sweet side, and the bitter middle and finish has moderated with a few months on it. In fact, I prefer this, less bitter hops taste to the fresh as it lets the malts shine through more.

 

Time to get to work on the outside lights. Trying to beat the rain.

Tasty. Found all the BCBS variants for the first time ever — and hit up another brewery’s Black Friday release that I’m even more excited about. Would post a haul photo, but my wife’s downstairs.

 

I don't know how to post pictures (and it seems like too much of a PIA to bother learning), but I'm sure everyone here can picture my beer off of their own experience. I've been slowly working through a 2017 BCBS. It started off awesome and has been opening up over time as it warms up. Yummmmm.

Still raiding the cellar, this time with less than stellar results.

Left over turkey sliders with a 3 year old Old Blaggard, that, while still "drinkable", has significantly declined with age. Hotter with less taste complexity.



Grisman / Garcia "The Thrill is Gone" seems to fit:

 

Yeah Yeah Yeah. DDH Brut IPA from Maigic Rock (UK).
