Awesome as expected. Fantastic fluffy head retention/thick lacing. Aromas and flavors of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, roasted nuts, caramel, brown sugar, molasses, toffee, raisin, plum, cherry, fig, date, currant, berries, red grape/wine, toasted oak, and dark bread/crust; with lighter notes of vanilla, licorice, wood smoke, charcoal, leather, tobacco, herbal, peppercorn, piney hops, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate pine, woody, herbal, peppery hop; roast, charcoal bitterness; and slight grape tang/tartness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; very creamy, silky, bready malts; some sticky hops, chalky char roast; and light grape tang, oak tannins in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing hop/char bitter dryness, no acrid/astringency. Dangerously smooth, minimal warming 10%. Well executed as expected, was expecting a lot more fruit actually. Awesomely rich black/roasted malt compelxity, and balancing earthy hops; with complementing grape must/fruity yeast notes that aren't overwhelming at all. Would buy again. Will age nicely to balance out the hop character. Spot on Russian Imperial style all the way through. 4.13

Bourbon, gin and rum barrels bringing the heat and some mighty big flavor. The rum seems most forward and the gin hits at the very end. I dig it for sure

    Another tasty one from Sloop-

(No) Santa IPA, which, much like their (No) Pumpkin IPA contains no pumpkins or pumpkin pie spices, contains no Santas or Santa spices.

    Holiday cheers, all.

Ha! We must’ve been drinking different batches of that one. Maybe we’ll get another in-person comparison soon.

Man, those poor Chargers - a pick on their first possession? Damn... And that Mahomes - two ridiculous throws - one for a first down, one for a touchdown...But LA is still alive...

Could there be an upset brewing? *and then Rivers throws an end-zone interception* lol

This'll do it for me tonight - beer-wise, at least...

Obviously I could head to the brewery, but they were hit or miss there at one point. They also show up randomly at local bottle shops. I’m not sure if “wider” distribution is parallel to production or more random than that. But after running through some Aslin and Ocelot, it’s nice to revisit a classic.

Insofar as much wider distribution, I think I saw a bit of DC Beau in some European member posts, so I wonder if they took a little run at that vs up the east coast. Complete and utter speculations.

They probably don’t capitalize the ‘A’ when they speak, though.

Is a capital 'A' pronounced differently?

Maybe for some, er...uhm...anatomical words, shall I say.
