Heavy night for me, had an early thanksgiving dinner with some friends. Enjoyed an Ommegang hennepin, then had Schlafly pumpkin with a slice of punkin' pie for dessert.

Also, trying to figure out why my office is closed on MLK day, but not veterans day. Wish it was the other way around.

Had a buddy that served 6 years and most of which on tour over for a tasting and some football. Had some great beers. I swear I will post pictures tomorrow when I get a chance and sober up. Great day for beer and great day for football. Saw a lot of Bears posts and not many Texans posts... GO TEXANS!!! I like the bears, but that is a great win for the Texans. I know its a different story with Cutler for the whole game, but a win is a win.
Plus having some good sours, barrel aged beers, and double ipa's doesn't hurt.
    Cheers BA!

I was gonna say my day stunk, because my (NFL) picks stunk (7-5 since Thursday and a frickin' tie in SF), Walking Dead didn't record (but I recorded the re-airing at midnight), and I'm strangely itchy all over (psychosomatic?), and then I reflected on my beer:
Started off with a DFH 75 Minute IPA (first one! ...sooo gooood...), then moved onto Stone's Double Bastard (a favorite I often return to), and somehow - I don't know how this is possible - I've knocked back three (!) Founders Backwoods Bastards.

Holy crap, I had a great day! When did that happen?

My final Backwoods Bastard of the night: Oh, yes, I so deserve/need it....
Had to slow my vigorous pour to let the camera refocus... lol
    [IMG]
The final pour falls into the glass... kinda sad in a way...

Changed my camera settings for the finishing pic:

And for the record: this beer is so excellent at (nearly) room temp - the bourbon/oak/whiskey flavors really peak at warmer temps. I recall noting how drinkable this beer was (despite the high abv and strong flavors) the very first time I had it a coupla years ago - and that has held true.

    'Night all...

Ha, nope it's just a bar/bottle-shop with impressive attention to detail.
EDIT - Also, I kinda hate that glass.

First up while packing some boxes to go out in the morning, a great gift from a local friend who took a trip back home last week. Love the beer, and LOVE the glass!

Personally, imgur.com work fine. You don't need an account but it helps (free)

Upload it, copy the bbcode and paste it here.

If you are using an I device (iPhone,iPad) there is an imgur app that works perfectly. From the app just hit the get imbedded code link then hit the bbcode URL and paste it here.

Decided to pull a random bottle from the cellar tonight, drinking The Dark Side (Belgian imperial stout) from Terrapin. By my estimation it's almost three years old, and it's not drinking too bad, though oxidation is noticeably creeping in at this point.

Peggy: Hank, do you think I could win the Mrs. Heimlich pageant if I entered?
Hank: You see, Peggy, that's what you call a loaded question. No matter how I answer, there's a bullet in every chamber designed to blow my brains out.

    Love it.

I just poured my second. I can see myself buying several more 12 packs of this stuff. SN always makes me happy. Hell, I think I'm one of the few that bought 3 12 packs of their Summerfest.

Harvest Ale is still better, but for the price, it's not even close.
