You may be right that there is still some BA Expo on shelves somewhere. If you know it’s out there, be an advocate for those that weren’t as lucky and post where it’s at, and they can grab some.

FYI, that wouldn’t be for me - I got plenty, and realize how lucky I was to be able to head to stores once I heard they had it.

I have spoke to people about where to find it. I’ve had multiple people send me PM, and I have given them advice where to find it.

All of the people that I have given tips to find barrel iexpedition on the shelf usually reported being able to pick up two 4 packs.

My county just got BA expedition last week. I was lucky enough to get 2 4 packs from a store who didn't seem to care about limiting bottles per person. I left 2 more 4 packs behind for the next lucky fella. Got 1 4 pack out of town during the initial rush. So I went from nothing last year to buying 13 bottles total this year, although it was sheer luck and stopping at a lot of the stores in town. Look at stores you might not normally, bells ships beer to everyone.

If you gave me a million years to ponder, I would never have guessed that such awesome beer and Detroit would ever go together. And to this day the events that followed all seemed like a distant dream, but the dream was real, and was to change our lives forever.....

The hype is not real. First time buyer and both bottles taste closer to a BA barleywine or old ale than a BA stout. Disappointed for sure.

Hmm can you be more specific with what you did or didn’t taste?

I happened to get 6 more of these while in MI now for the holidays, so you inspired me to open one tonight. As someone who didn’t care much for the 2017 version (at least compared to others), I definitely disagree with you. This is a great BA stout with a good mix of roastiness and chocolate.

I certainly can understand if you don’t like it, though...palates being different and all.

It is literally my all-around favorite BA stout and this year's tastes exactly to me like last year's did when it was fresh and now those 2017s taste like smooth figgy booze-free bourbon fudge pops (to my palate at least). If you have extras left over you don't want to sit on and happen to be in the Milwaukee area shoot me a PM.

Hops, candi sugar, molasses. Muted chocolate undertones. Faint barrel. No vanilla. No wood. No tobacco. BA stouts are my favorite style. After the reviews, which made it sound barrel forward (and a stout), I'm very disappointed. It actually tastes closer to a Lost Abbey Angel's Share than a BA stout. Bad batch maybe? Won't be searching for it next year. Still, I'd rather have BA Expedition than a CW BA Stout. I have one bottle left. Might as well open it tomorrow.

What beerpugz is trying to say is that it tasted like a real stout and does not have 5 adjuncts or more. Looking for more of a pastry stout boiissss.

I was in NJ over Christmas and found a place with a bunch left. Got 4 to bring back. Tried one on Saturday and got the exact opposite tastes as you. What was the bottling date and PRN on the bottles? Haven't heard of any bad bottles and it was highly ranked in the year end review in the Great Lakes forum. May just be your palate.

I have drank a 6 bottles of 2018 BA Expedition Stout. Haven’t had a bad bottle yet. BA Expedition Stout is the benchmark for a near flawless barrel aged stout without any adjunct bullshit. It’s incredible from all aspects of the beer.

Weird. I've actually had an Angel's Share and a 2018 BA Expedition within days of each other recently and I didn't experience any of these similarities at all. As others have noted, this is a big, roasty, chocolatey stout. I got a lot of barrel presence - char, oak and wood, and more vanilla once up to temp. Not saying your experience is wrong or anything, just that palates are a weird thing. Did the other bottle give you the same experience? Do you like regular Expedition?
