I checked on tap hunter and there’s not a single place around here where it’s on tap. As of yet of course, I hope someone scores a keg, no problem buying a glass, I’m just resisting buying a 6.

took a couple years off of this Hopslam merry Go Round, used to be widely available, then it was hard to find or you needed to hunt and the last couple years I just didn't hunt, chase trucks etc.etc so a couple years off.

This year I see it everywhere (almost) $16.99 limit two and I walk into Costco on Friday and in the corner is a pallet of Hopslam for $13.99 with no limit.

No hunting, no chasing and I've gone through a case

Man this is a good year

My local World Market has a lot of dusty six-packs on their shelves.

It's funny how when Hopslam was a relatively new-ish beer, people were bitching about the price while simultaneously buying $8-10 undated bombers of Sculpin and praising it endlessly. Now a decade later and people are still bitching about the price while buying $20-24 4-packs of 7-8% NEIPAs and sugar-laden milkshake "IPAs" that are more common than turds in a dog park. Some years I've loved Hopslam and some years I've thought it was just okay, but I still think it's a pretty good deal for what you're getting.

I still think it is a good beer but times change, there are loads of amazing beers out there for a fair price, cannot blame folks for enjoying the new stuff. Regarding price, there are loads of stellar beers for cheaper, not everything is $20-$24 bucks a 4 pack.

Not everything, but there are way, way, way more beers out there now that are more ridiculously priced than Hopslam. Especially considering it's essentially a "triple" IPA and brewed with honey--a very expensive ingredient. At least on the West Coast, where IPAs are more abundant than obesity at a Golden Corral, $16-24 per 4-pack of pint can IPAs (regardless of if they're single, Brut, imperial, hazy, etc.) are the new norm. I'm not dissing the beers themselves, since I love many NEIPAs, but the prices are typically far steeper than Hopslam.

Tried first one today, canned 1/16. I have a bit of a cold and the beer was not 100% cooled to beer fridge temp.. but it was a bit more malty than hoppy. I’m a huge fan so hoping the next 11 hit the spot.

    Such an arrogant, ignorant statement.

Sierra Nevada is damn near in any grocery store with any beer selection and they are as high-quality as craft beer gets. No, they don't make 4 new NEIPAs every single week, but their quality across styles is second to none.

I'm in South East MI and while it's been more available in recent years, this was the first time that my local Meijer had some without having some A-Hole buying it all up for resale.

    $15.99 for a 6
$5 for an 8oz pour at my local watering hole.

I love the entire IPA spectrum, and this is still my favorite. I have a wedding out in CA this summer that is right near Russian River, so I'm excited to finally get some Pliny!

Funny thing is, I just went to the grocery store because they were the first in the city to get their shipment of Toppling Goliath and Hopslam.

Huh. Must be a different scene in VA. I buy almost all of my beer in grocery stores here in Northern Illinois -- good to stellar beers. The best part is, most of the bigger grocery stores buy in such bulk that they can offer the best prices.

Is there a form somewhere that I can fill out to have the time I spent reading this thread returned to me?

Kidding, mostly. I've gone back and forth on Hopslam over the years, with the last few being a "nod to a formerly great beer" rather than being excited to drink it. Had a pint yesterday (for $7 if that is something that we're still charting) and I really enjoyed it. I did not buy a six pack, but that was mainly because of having plenty of beer at home and not being entirely sure I wanted six more Hopslams. $20 for a six pack of a 10% DIPA with honey in 2019 isn't exactly the craziest thing I've considered.

    I'll leave it there.

For a state with as many world class breweries as VA, the grocery stores carry absolute garbage. When Sierra Nevada and Bells are the pinnacle of what you have to offer I'll spend my cash at one of the many breweries making better beer.

Hit South Jersey today. $16 per six. Picked up a two Sixers. My store got quite a bit in my opinion.
