    Starting off a bit Surly today - Todd the Axe Man

    look: 4 | smell: 4.5 | taste: 4.5 | feel: 4.25 | overall: 4.25

    Faintly hazy, bright gold colored body with a relatively thin yet lasting head, a bit soapy, a bit creamy. Powerful scent of citrus and pineapple; orange, lemon; very light note of light grain. Huge juicy flavor infused with a striking yet balanced hop bitterness; grapefruit; subtle cracker notes. Medium bodied; crisp and dry with a bit of alcohol dryness, too.

    An outstanding beer with a nice ABV punch, balanced and delightful in all respects.

    Canned about five months ago (10/16/18) but still mighty fine...

    And not listening (yet) to the pictured album. Instead, I'm tuned in to one of my Sunday staples - The Thomas Jefferson Hour on the radio.

    Ghostwood Brewing Hell Camino. Here's a 8.4% DIPA with Nelson, Citra and Strata coming out of a new brewery out of Redwood City, CA. Canned 2/5/2019.

    With that hop combo, you expect great things! And maybe cuz it's a month old, I hated it.
    • Generic, non-descript hop flavor (could have been any hops, certainly not the 3 described).
    • Lack of juicey notes or feel which makes it not a NEIPA.
    • Because of the ho-humness, I guess it could be more WC but the WC/WC fusion beers being made these days are far superior.
    I'd rather have drunk nothing than this wannabetrendchaser beer. So I drainpoured about half of it.

    This to me represents everything wrong about the "haze craze".
