    Light golden color with white cap.

    Aroma of ripe banana, bit of clove and some light citrus touches.

    Taste is rather ripe banana forward followed by the clove (not too spicy) and citrus in the form of citrus blossoms rather than fruit or zest. At the very first I thought a touch of tartness but that was quickly overcome by the banana. Simple, clean flavors that finish almost dry, which is a plus in this beer because there is balance whereas sweetness might have thrown the whole thing into a more one dimensional taste.

    look: 3.75 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 3.75 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3.75

    Dark amber body with a thick, sudsy head. Deep caramel aroma; a hint of vanilla; sweet. Malted grain flavor with some notes of white chocolate. Medium body; rich and full; semi-sweet feel throughout the taste.

    A nice 'mystery ale' in that the brewery offers no description on the packaging or its web site. One can assume the base beer is their flagship Laughing Lab (a Scottish ale), but what makes this "chocolate" is open to speculation. And the ABV is a mystery, too. Regardless, Chocolate Lab is a fine, tasty brew, malt-forward and easy drinking.

    I believe I will head down to Bristol Brewing for lunch and to try and track down some more specific information about this beer.

    A day of firsts here ba. Rabbit Rabbit, nes-ipa featuring citra, Amarillo, and Idaho 7, from Lamplighter brewing. Good citrus fruit hops and a bit perfume tasting. Decent enough drinking but nothing really all that great either.
