My dude, you bought the wrong one.

Also, as I continue to homer this beer, Citra+Strata is absolutely fantastic. I'll take this over oaty tasting hop showers ALL DAY.

OH PLEASE (see what I did with the OH?)

Oh stouts are mostly quite good these days. They might all suffer from tasting like a similar combination of coconut, chocolate, cinnamon, nuts, and coffee, but they're quite good.

I have both bottles along with the Moksa bottle, but I tried V2 on draft this past weekend and was unimpressed, thought the Deep Orbit Centaurus was much better.

I’m forming an action group called The Everypeople Against Big Almonds ‘Gresively Going IN Goodbeer (TEABAGGING). Hope some of y’all will support me to bring an end to nuts being dangled in all of our stouts

I’m with you except change everypeople to everyone. Just works better. Although now that I think of it the rest is just as comically awkward to leave it.

I agree with you. I found it to be just okay to good. Though, I do not regret buying the bottle but I will admit I was underwhelmed. I did like the coconut cinnamon one more.

I think your opinion is valid and you're obviously not alone. I didn't think it would be of popular opinion but I've probably wasted around $200 on unenjoyable bottled stouts from OH the past year. They're amazing at marketing and have successfully rebranded themselves (with collabs and pastrytown) as a brewery whose bottled stouts are worth seeking out but they're just not for me.

jam dont shake was a huge dud. gusher when it opened. i think i just hate cherries in stouts. gives it a medicinal sour taste.

I havent had many OH stouts, my initial reaction to their stouts over the years were they were far too sweet so I avoided them. I am sure some are too sweet, but recently had Pastrytown 2 and the Deep Orbit Centaurus and really enjoyed them. i didn't like the draft of Observations from Orbit V2 I had after I bought a bottle, really regret I fell for the hype and got that one.

Their stouts have no question gotten better. Both of the anniversary stouts were very good, but $18 for a pint is a pretty rare purchase for me (and a little annoying considering they raised the price for no clear reason)

I know I’m probably in the minority on this, but ET’s new stouts are $4-$7 more for 4 times the beer. Pretty easy choice for me.

Agreed. Had a pour at Grimm and, if I hadn't been primed to expect PB&J, I totally would've thought it just tasted like cough syrup.

Agreed on price. One simple reason on the price..... people will pay it.

Definitely don't understand the popularity of these stouts. I've tried a few of them, including the "wild thai banana" one, and it's just a super sweet heavy sugar liquid. How anybody drinks an entire 16oz bottle themselves is beyond me, but I guess I just don't have the stomach for it. Not to mention the ridiculous abv on them, like why?

IPAs still maintain a level of freshness or refreshing flavors I seek out. With the stouts I find after a couple of sips I just want to drink water.

The ABV on these stouts is getting absurd.

they are increasing yes..but still not close to The Bruery level stouts:astonished:
and OH has definitely raised their stout game over the past 12-18 months..starting with Maple Creamies (loved every drop that hit my belly) to the Short & Dark series, as well as Snowbirds and that 5th Anniv stout w/ Banana...anxiously awaiting details on the 3 Sons collab stout

For their 12%+ stouts I’ve definitely gotten more into them over the last few months. Maybe they’re improving or maybe I’m just morphing into a pastryboi. But now there are several where I can drink the whole bottle whereas in the past I could only manage a few oz

I still think we should be seeing more in the 8-10% range. That should be the stout norm with the odd 15% special vs the other way round.

Berries was the first Imperial Stout that I thought was very good from them, wish I had bought more of that, especially at $15 a bottle.

#Pastrypecker has a weird American Pie connotation. Resist the dark side, man.
