    lot of family outings over the past 36 hours or so, been kind of nice but this is a well deserved beer for once. it's gone now that i'm typing but whatever. hope the store gets more soon. cheers my friends.

    [​IMG] The newest Kettlehead creation brewed with pineapple, coconut, and milk sugar. Pours a very attractive hazy yellow orange with a solid finger sticky white head that leaves a few sticky webs of lace, with solid retention. 4.25

    Smell is coconut, pineapple, mandarin, mango, and a little hit of grapefruit. 4

    Taste follows coconut and pineapple are most dominate and play very well with the mandarin and grapefruit I must crush this beer! 4.25

    Mouthfeel is pretty big for only 4% ABV, soft gentle carbonation, a tad sticky but not dry, and drinks bigger in flavor and body than its modest ABV. 4.5

    Overall this stuff is really tasty and I am digging it, but if you don’t like coconut or pineapple this isn’t your jam. Sam and Nate did it again, excellent and drinks more like 6%. 4.25

    Now home with an “All Day IPA”:

    look: 4.25 | smell: 4 | taste: 4.25 | feel: 4.5 | overall: 4.25

    Golden orange body; a bazillion small, gently rising carbonation bubbles; dense and creamy head. Smell exudes pine and dank herb. Light cereal grain base with a pungent hop bitterness; zesty and spicy; some faint alcohol notes. Medium body; crisp and prickly on the palate; some sugary stickiness; gentle booze heat and overall dryness.

    This is a very well done double/imperial IPA (the brewery's web site only lists it as an IPA, but the ABV indicates otherwise). The can lists seven hop varietals used (Cascade, Centennial, Chinook, Comet, CTZ, Eureka, Mosaic, and Simcoe). I also note that the brewery indicates this beer is released in February (I don't see any dating on the can), so if this is true and despite the relative age, the hop character remains strong and potent. I can only imagine what a fresh version may do to treat the senses!

    This is certainly an odd one, and not in a good way, really. While it does have some nice, almost juicy tropical notes, it's just way to floral and grassy for my personal taste, with an odd earthy/musty note that I've never really encountered in an IPA like this. Love the way that can opens though!
