Cheers, BAs! Re-stocked the fridge a touch (although I'm still very low on everything except stouts), and as I get to food prep - and my first beer of the day - I'm going with a classic: Sixpoint Resin.

    Cheers!

Sir, I drank this IPA the first time as a 13-year-old in 2001. You should have had it then. Amazing shit.

Good beer but the food is just too awesome. Damn, now I am hungry. What have you done?

Fantastic Imperial red! Lasting rocky head retention/thick foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of huge tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, melon, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, and pine hops; with balanced caramel, brown sugar, toffee, nutty, toasted biscuit, brown bread dough/crust malt sweetness; and herbal, floral, grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; very creamy, silky, bready malts; some sticky hops, and resins/rinds in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing lingering resin dryness; no hop astringency. Super smooth, not overly aggressive, minimal warming 8.1%. Awesome Cascade showcase. Extremely juicy and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a perfectly balanced rich dark/Munich malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. Will get another fill of this one! 4.23

This beer is as good as American brewing gets, IMHO. There are beers that are as good, but this beer is perfectly executed to the style, again IMHO. The citrus hop flavors are fantastic, but the caramalt backbone is what makes this.

My favorite Three Floyds beer when it’s fresh, and this was bottled 3/29/19 - and there’s a couple dozen sitting on the shelf of my local. How is that possible?

I'm not a huge fan of this stout. It drinks easy enough and has a great mouthfeel, but it's all soy sauce and dark fruits with a hoppy finish. It's like if Even More Jesus were cut with Storm King or a black IPA. It's not bad, it's just not what I seek in a stout.

I was craving breakfast food all day. It's become a regular thing for me recently.

Here's my first beer of the day and a real change of pace for me.

The guy at the store said "you gotta try this one, it's discounted and it's really delicious. A lot of people don't like it but I think it's great"

Well, $5.99 for this bottle was a bit too much IMO. Count me into the majority. It's not bad, but as a "Sour Altbier Dortmunder ale aged in Bourbon Barrels" it's kinda weak (not in intensity, just in execution). The vinegar notes are serious on this one. Some sour cherry candies and more intense vinegar, with very very light caramel notes from the bourbon barrel and some lemons and toasted malt. It's...hmmm...interesting. I gave it a generous 3.9 out of 5. lol.

No IPAs when I was 13. 1965. Lots of pot. Lots of acid. And a lot of cheap flavorless beers which I was thankful I could even get. Think Budweiser, Schmidts, Shafer, Gibbons....the sorry list goes on.

As an aside, how are you doing my friend? Staying out of trouble?

Damn, that sucks about the lacto infection. I know they had an issue last year some time where an entire batch of Vanilla Bean Blonde was infected and got dumped (I was working for Infusion at the time), and they fired the head brewer :open_mouth: Sounds like maybe it wasn't his fault....

Congratulations on Jr Z's graduation! Our youngest graduated USF in 2013 and is finishing her 5th year as a high school dance director. We'll be in WI for our youngest's UW graduation on 5/11 (along with @GreenBayBA younger brother). Have a safe evening BA's!

Thank you. You have tolerated me for a long time. Dude. Sometimes you succeed. You stay out of trouble. Othertimes not. My guess is that you have been on both sides of the fence from time to time.

    How is PA treating you?

Congrats! We hit it for the first time last July. I stood in line with 100 others in the rain to buy beer.......it was well worth it! Enjoy!

VA is awesome. Richmond is even more so. So many great breweries and restaurants. Was not always this way though.

Gotta visit sister #2 in Effort, PA. The Budweiser folks.

Maybe at the conclusion of the BIF stuff, you will let me send some Veil and TC DIPAs. I am woefully behind in what you have sent.
