Well, took a surprise nap after those IPAs.

Conscious again so dinners now in the crock pot, wife doesn’t need to be picked up until 10 and NBA is on the television. I’ve got time to kill.

Outstanding Gueuze. Fantastic fluffy head retention/thick foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big tart/sour lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, citrus peel/zest, peach, pear, pineapple, melon, apricot, red/green apple, white grape/wine, oak, hay, straw, grass, peppercorn, wet wood, leather, and musty/lacto funk; with moderate wheat, cracker, white bready malts, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tart/sourness, Brett/wine tang, and yeast/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Medium-high carbonation, light-medium body, and moderately crisp/clean finishing. Balanced bready/grainy malts, lactic acid, and wine tang/tannins in the mouthfeel. Moderate increasing acidic/tangy/tannic/carbonated dryness; no pucker/astringency. Refreshingly smooth, not overly lactic, no warmth of 6.5%. Amazingly well rounded classic barnyard Brett/Bacteria complexity; with great wine foeder presence, and pale/wheat malts against acidity. Spot on style example as expected of Oud Beersel. 4.18

Mikkeller NYC Eights the Hard way. This is my go to brewery prior to Mets games. It's attached to Citifield so it's perfect and I'd argue it's the best craft beer spot associated with or in any mlb ballpark and I've been to all 30. Mets better start picking it up or I'm guessing it's not gonna be hard to get a beer there prior to games.

Omnipollo Super Size Hilma. Fantastic NEDIPA. Opaquely hazy. Lasting rocky head retention/thick foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of huge mandarin orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate vanilla, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; very creamy, silky, bready, grainy malts; some sticky hops and resins/rinds in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering resin dryness, no cloying/astringency. Dangerously smooth/soft, not aggressive, no warmth of 9%. Feels like Galaxy, Citra, Simcoe. Extremely juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a great vanilla, and wheat/oat/malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. The Crispy Fries/Burger Bun thing is nothing but a gimmick as expected. Just tastes like a regular NEIPA. Would buy again. 4.23
