NBS BIF from @Coronaeus. Half Hours on Earth brewery. This was amazing. Lasting fluffy head retention/thick foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big tart/sour lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, peach, pear, melon, apricot, red/green apple, white grape/wine, peppercorn, pecans, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, hay, straw, and grass; with moderate maple syrup, wheat, cracker, white bready malts; lighter notes of oaken vanilla, leathery/musty/lacto funk, white wine vinegar, and yeast earthiness. Moderate peppery yeast/oak tannin spiciness, and lactic tart/tang/sourness on the finish. High carbonation, light body, and moderately crisp/clean finishing. Balanced grainy malts, lactic acid/tang, and oak tannins in the mouthfeel. Moderate increasing acidic/spicy/carbonated dryness; minimal pucker/astringency. Smooth, not overly lactic, 7.5%. Amazingly well rounded Brett/Bacteria/Saison yeast complexity; with great maple syrup, pecan, and bourbon barrel presence/integration; and solid pale/wheat malts against acidity. Zero residual sweetness with crisp carbonated dryness. Highly impressive for the style. Nothing overwhelming. 4.36

DUBCo -- Andrea Doria imperial porter

    3.82/5 rDev -4.5%
    look: 3.5 | smell: 4 | taste: 3.75 | feel: 4 | overall: 3.75

Dark body with a fairly thin yet lasting head. Vanilla and coconut are the immediate impression on the nose; muted chocolate and coffee. Milk chocolate and vanilla taste; some booziness; mild bitterness. Heavy body; pretty slick and oily on the palate.

A pretty nice and robust imperial porter. It is relatively weak in appearance (mostly due to its thin head) and the taste is fairly heavy in the sweetness department although the whiskey heat and taste from the barrel aging does add some depth to the overall picture.

I'm wicked excited that Trillium finally made a Lighthouse Series beer that pays homage to my hometown of Duxbury! So much feels right now...

Growing up in Duxbury I had many fond memories of relaxing and/or partying out on Saquish (technically it's a part of Plymouth but you need to drive ~15 minutes down Duxbury beach). It's a gorgeous place. It's like a whole other country. No electricity, just little summer cottages. Soft white sand, crystal clear waters (for NE standards at least...you can see the bottom, depending on the current, @ ~30ft of water).

Anyway, many awesome memories of this lighthouse. You even could even hear it miles away at my house if the wind blew the right way.

The aging in red wine barrels really shows here with a strong vinous character dominated by tart red berries and oaky tannins, as well as lighter notes of caramel malt and dark fruits. An interesting and accomplished take on the style, but that strong, vinous character is not going to be for everyone.

Mill house brewing company Grocery getter. Decent take on the NEIPA style, firmly B status IMO though.

    Luponic Distortion No. 12

My first go-round with this. Less than stellar. I got mostly pine water, grass, hay, bread dough, and faint mango and strong grapefruit. Maybe a hint of tangerine. It was canned 4/2, but I can't believe all the flavor would have dropped off. Bring back the glory of No. 3!! Now that was some Luponic Distortion. 3.63 out of 5.

Magnify's 4th Anniversary TIPA. I'm not sure I gave this ale its proper attention last weekend. Boy, is it intense: Dry Hopped 4 times with a combination of Citra, Mosaic, Nelson, Galaxy and Citra Cryo. It attacks the taste buds with waves of flavor.
