Hop Butcher (2019)

So I picked up a can of IWTB at Ovie for the train, and it is really good. Still one of my favorite HB beers.

 

Binny's on Grand Ave may have it, delivery is usually Thursday. Centennial bar in River North usually has their cans but not to go

 

Good tips! Appreciate it. Will be staying at the Fairmont in the loop. Idea for closest spot that may have cans to go?

 

Would still say Binny's on Grand (Downtown) or I assume Warehouse Liquors and Printer's Row Wine Shop (both in south loop) get it as well so you may want to call them

Printer's Row get HB but Warehouse Liquors does not. Binny's South Loop get HB too but they are a little further away.

 

Yeah Binny's Grand is still your closest, best bet. HB beers usually hit the floor around 2pm on Thursdays. 1 four pack of each beer (if there's more than one HB beer released) per person.

 

Gotcha. So if rolling in Friday afternoon usually sold out?

 

Depends on what is being released. If anything lasts til Friday afternoon I don't think it would be much. You an always call the store ahead of time. On a Friday afternoon you could still find some of the HB beers are the Ovie Market under the tracks at Ogilvie Train Station. They sell cans to go for the commuters but expect to pay $7-$8 a can for Hop Butcher beers. You could also post in the IP Trade Forum once HB announces what beers they are releasing next week. I'm sure some locals would probably swap you some Hop Butcher for some Florida locals. What part of Florida are you coming from?

Coming in from Jacksonville for the weekend. Trying to avoid a checked bag on the way up, but might have to for an IP if they end up dropping some cans this week.

Depends on where you are, exactly, but there's a Binny's on Clark, Bottles and Cans on Lincoln, Bitter Pops on Lincoln, Beermiscuous on Lincoln...

(Lincoln is a good street for beer shops)

Pretty much. It depends on the drop though, sometimes it lasts for hours depending on the day and the size of the drop.
