    This Big Job DIPA from Blightly will kick off the weekend... it’s pleasantly mild here unlike the painful 45c (113F) expected in some parts of the south.

    I'm having a Three Philosophers by Ommegang. They make high quality stuff, and I think this is their best. A quad mixed with a touch of kriek. Massive rocky head with spectacular lacing. Smell & taste are of cherries, brown sugar & raisins. Awesome beer.

    Happy Friday ba. Southdown, breakfast stout w/coconut, from Sand City to start the day. The coconut adds a nice nutty flavor with almost a hazelnut coffee thing going on that is very tasty. A nice improvement over the base variant.

    Slept in today for no particular reason. The dog has been walked and the usual feeding/cleaning chores completed...something new and relatively local (a City vs. Town thing) - “Wonder Dust IPA” by Bare Bottle Brew Co., San Francisco, CA:



    Opaque two tone sunset gold pour with rocky white sea foam; long cap retention with heavy ring and lacing; pretty to look at. 4.75

    Skunky dank cat pee hop nose/Lemon rind. 3.5

    Skunky peaches, lite bitter lemon grass; garlic and onion finish; some stone fruits - peaches, nectarines as it warms. 3.5

    Medium full feel, moderate carbonation; not pillowy or juicy; very lite hop astringency. 3.75

    Overall there is a dull dank skunky lite bitter linger that does not appeal to me; all Mosaic in the boil, Mosaic and Simcoe in the DH; maybe some mango/guava flavors in here as well, but the dull onion cattiness prevents me from enjoying the fruit aspects; would not drink again. 3.5

    The bottle was $7.99 for 510ml. Pliny is $6.99 for 500ml at same grocery store. I know what I’ll buy next time...Enjoy your Friday BAs!
