Eminent domain, I understand 5he reason for the laws, but think they are often subject to misuse. At a personal level, with famIly history, they can destroy close knit communities and force apart extended families but that is often ignored. If it happened to family more than once while also being assured we were a fortunate “chosen people” I’d be unhappy too and decide I’d been deceived. There would be anger, resentment and a touch of hate for those who had betrayed my trust. Throw in the occasional periods of non fatal radiation sickness.... I’d be offended by the beer naming/labeling as well.

Re timing, does that 2030 estimate include a linear increase or does it take account of an increasing rate of warming change over time?

Anything can be twisted into a controversy, and this is a perfect example of manufactured political correctness run amok. It's beer, and it's not infringing on anyone's rights. The brewers should thank the complainers for the publicity, perhaps send them some beer.

Curious. Did you actually read or know anything about what the Marshall Islanders who are upset about the names actually went through? Have you ever been made sick by the radiation from one or more nuclear blasts? Had to pack up and move to a new island because your home was going to become a test site?

    Are you sure?

It appears you may be wrong about that.

Although I guess there could have been multiple stonings that we wouldn't have heard about over here in the US...

It never ceases to amaze me how offended people can become over things that don't directly affect their lives... The outrage is strong in this crowd...

(Though in all seriousness I agree the Brewery Name and many of their beer names are obviously in bad taste. And I can especially understand why the islanders would be upset. I vehemently appose nuclear weapons, though for me personally that doesn't lead me to become literally offended by a bad marketing plan. And if their brews are good, and this is their only "sin" I'd still give them a try.)

Oh would you look at that, someone else is offended at something.

Death threats? Sounds about right for that crowd. Where can I buy their beer?

Saudi Arabia is a very conservative, Islamic country and is home to what is considered the holiest city in Islam – Mecca. ... Alcoholis completely banned in Saudi Arabia. This includes consuming, importing, brewing and selling alcohol. Officially, there is no way that you are able to get hold of alcohol in Saudi Arabia.

I think you're misreading a lot of people in here. Sympathizing/empathizing with the islanders isn't the same as being personally offended.

I think it's really dumb on the brewery's part, and I think their response is bogus. In general, I'm annoyed at thoughtless/crass beer branding practices, and this is just the latest example.

I fully understood all that and actually have done so for some years now. Although I've not personally been there I've worked with folks who have lived there and sometimes even read books. So deliberate bolding isn't all that necessary.

But that doesn't change the fact that you said "Brewery" and did not specify there had to be alcohol just as the poster you responded to did not specifiy whether or not the brewery produced alcohol or not.

Even though alcohol is banned there are breweries which is what you chose to disagree with.

Well honestly when you put it that way, I better understand where you are coming from. And I completely agree that their response is bogus. Given that, I can understand your annoyance.

I copied that direct from Wikipedia and the bolding came along for the ride. No offense intended.
