The other leaky bottle from @Shanex. Roman La Cervoise des Ancêtres. Front label was messed up. This one had a bit more carb than the last leaky one. Excellent Tripel. Solid head retention/spotty lacing. Aromas and flavors of big lemon, peach, pear, apricot, melon, red apple, white grape, peppercorn, clove, and light banana/bubblegum yeast; with moderate candi sugar, honey, cracker, white bread dough, light toasted biscuit malts; with some herbal, floral, woody, grassy hops and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate herbal, floral, woody, grassy bitterness; and peppery yeast spiciness on the finish. Mild carbonation, medium body, and fairly crisp finishing. Creamy/grainy malts and some sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing bitter/spicy dryness; no cloying/astringency. Very smooth, minimal warming 9%. Once again, adjusting score for known lack of carbonation, this was spot on style. Great well rounded Belgian yeast complexity, clean pils malts/sugars, and nice noble hop presence/balance for the style. Mild residual sweetness with crisp dryness. Very well attenuated for the ABV. 4

My gut tells me that it's a complete shit show without even looking at reviews. Not sure if I'll even try it because I don't feel like committing to more than one beer at that abv. Peace, my brother.

Side note: I was initially excited about the beer, foolishly thinking it might be in the 8 - 8.5% range.

I really liked it. It is not refined per say but it embodies the entire flavor/aroma profile of Two Hearted and shoots it to the moon. If it wasn't for the cost I would of snagged the last remaining 6 pack when I was out earlier. You probably won't have another shot to try it for a long time get it while the getting is good.

Opened my first Double Two Hearted, as @drtth says in his review, this is a great one to sip on while reading a book. Here ya go, started reading Clarice Lispector's The Chandelier. If people are not familiar with her, she was a great Brazilian writer and reminds me a lot of Virginia Woolf. This is one of Lispector's first novels first released in 1946, and just now translated to English for the first time. Its all stream of conscious and fever dream like. I've got another one of her early works that I'll be diving into next (a great independent publishing company called New Directions has been translating a lot of her early work lately).

    Marble -- Desert Fog

    3.97/5 rDev -4.8%
    look: 4 | smell: 3.75 | taste: 4 | feel: 4.25 | overall: 4

Soft and hazy pale yellow body; thick and creamy white head. Fine lemon and grapefruit aroma; bready. The taste follows along with the aroma; very citrus-like; doughy, bready taste; bread crust; mildly tart; slight bitterness. Medium-heavy body; crisp and prickly on the palate; juicy yet with a strong overall dryness.

This beer tastes and looks great, with the mouthfeel stepping up just a notch above that. Balanced and complex, delivering some nice citrus juiciness and dryness.

Made it to Taos and stopped off at Taos Mesa's Mothership for a few beers. I wasn't overly impressed. Reviews and pix later. I'm now enjoying a quiet late afternoon with Mrs. Goot and Rocket at our casita...

...have to use a wine glass thing to review the beer (a decent mix-6, primarily of Marble offerings, picked up at Smith's grocery store) as our casita kitchen only has blue glass tumblers...

I feel like the abv is the biggest detractor for me. Like, why? Anyhow, maybe there will be a Hunter encounter. I never say never.

In Texas, enjoying this old school IPA I haven’t had in a while. Nice citrus and piney hops with a substantial malt backbone. Good stuff.

Yeah, I'm just gonna take a loss on these and give em away to the one person I know who might possibly enjoy them. I sure as hell won't. Peace, Hunter.

My last beer at the bar, Munkle’s “Brugge City Brune” :

A very tasty Belgian style brown ale, from the hottest new(er) brewery in Charleston (if you like Belgian style beers)!

Walked home and now on the back patio with the two dogs, and an APA:

Met a local beer distributor rep. this afternoon and had a great time talking local Charleston beer scene, breweries he distros for, and what may be coming my way in SWFL...I love day drinking...Cheers from the Low Country!
