River's Edge Frisch & Sauber. Excellent German pils. Great fluffy head retention/spotty lacing. Crystal clarity. Aromas and flavors of lemon, lime, orange, peach, pear, melon, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, wood, peppercorn, and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate herbal, woody, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium-plus carbonation, light-medium body, and moderately crisp/clean finishing. Balanced bready/grainy malts and sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Light lingering resins. Moderate increasing bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Perfectly clean lager flavors, no yeasty notes. Very flavorful/refreshing, not watery for 4.5%. Awesomely vibrant/earthy Triumph hop complexity, with a perfectly balanced clean pils malt backbone. Minimal residual sweetness with crisp dryness. No complaints, spot on style. 4

Taking the rest of this week off so I figured I'd open something nice for my Friday.

 

I found this in the cooler in a Walmart in East Texas. I believe it’s only being marketed in Texas and New Mexico. It has a little heat at the end of the taste, and there’s certainly citrus flavor, but all I could think of was body shots with gummy bears and Tabasco added for flavor. Glad I tried it, won’t venture back again.

 

I got no comment. Maybe six or more drinks later.

About a month short of his 7th birthday. I'm surprised it tastes as good as it does with a sticky sweet vanilla/bourbon profile. A nice sideshow to prepping peppers to stuff for the grill.

 

What a beautiful evening too nice not to drink. Wish I had a few more hours of daylight to enjoy it.

Drinking two of Carlsberg Sweden's major brands, Falcon and Pripps Blå. They are quite similar to one another, with a fruitiness and light hoppiness and dry maltiness. The falcon is a bit richer than the Pripps Blå.

 

Not my birthday, but I will celebrate this amazing stout! They can dazzle all with Stouts.

 

Magnify really nailed this single hop TIPA. A week in the can has mellowed it and the Mosaic hops really shine. Cheers, Advocates!

 

Supernatural Creature. A DIPA brewed by Veil. My third beer tonight brewed by Veil. I rank this number 2. The collab beer (Fireball) with Cloud Water was the best.

 

In my youth, this was the beer of choice for local Pennsylvania red necks!

 

Squatter’s Outer Darkness Imperial Russian Stout - going well with some leftover sausage gravy and biscuits, topped with raw jalapeños!

Collective Arts Pina Colada Sour. Fantastic milkshake sour. Fantastic head retention/lacing for the style. Aromas and flavors of big juicy/tart/tangy pineapples, coconut, lemon, lime, orange, peach, pear, melon, red/green apple, white grape/wine, hay, straw, and grass; with moderate vanilla, cream, wheat, brown sugar, white bread dough malts; light peppercorn, lacto funk and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tartness, fruit tang, and light spiciness on the finish. Medium-plus carbonation, light-medium body, and fairly crisp finishing. Balanced creamy/grainy wheat/lactose, lactic acid, and fruit tang/tannins in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing acidic/tangy dryness, no pucker/astringency. Refreshingly smooth, mellowly lactic, 5.2%. Fantastic balance of super juicy fruit and Lacto complexity; with a nice sized lactose and pale/wheat malt backbone against acidity for the ABV. Light residual sweetness with crisp dryness. Loved it. 4.23

Do not get me started on PA beers. Went to college there in the 70's. Drank the worst of the worst. I was not a redneck then but after 45 years living in Richmond, VA and my time as an iron worker, maybe I became a redneck. Now, I am just a lovable old drunk.
