Weird, I can see them now, but they weren't showing for me earlier. Maybe some kind of server issue...

Finishing last night’s closer for lunch Cycle’s Roadtrip 2018 “Joyous Almond”:

Other than some loss of carbonation, this BBA Stout tastes like a Mounds Bar dipped in a glass of bourbon - not too sweet, and not adjuncty tasting/feeling. Great stuff.

I’ve got no IPA in the house; a beer run this afternoon should cure my first world problem - Cheers y’all!

The appearance and smell rate the same. A very rich, malty taste follows; rich caramel; dull, pleasant sweetness; very low hop bitterness. Heavy body; smooth and slick; oily.

I haven't seen this Epic doppelbock in Colorado Springs for a long time. It's good to see it around again. This impression is much improved over my initial review impressions. Very good...

Bottle label info: Release #16, 8.5% ABV, Den# 1324 (original review dated December 23rd, 2013)

Poured out a nice copper red color and lots of active carbonation that produced a decent one-finger thick head. Slight caramel and taffy (i.e., the sugary candy) aroma. Flavor reinforced the malt smell plus had a big punch of hop bitterness. Medium bodied, crisp and clean finish.

An OK doppelbock that doesn't quite get much above average in all departments. The biggest thing is a rather weak and somewhat disjointed malt balance. Certainly not anything to avoid, but there are better examples of the style out there.

A "Forest Ale" from a new'ish local microbrewery that I came across at a small festival recently. Brewed with regionally sourced honey, hand-picked spruce shoots and dry-hopped with Callista hops, which really bring some vibrant red berry notes to this.

Just got back from the dog park on a gorgeous fall day. It's mid 70s and low humidity in the Philly burbs. I'm enjoying Fegley's Brewworks Devious, an imperial pumpkin beer. It's 9.0%, although you wouldn't notice. And, honest to god, I don't know what differentiates an imperial pumpkin from a regular one. It's big on brown sugar & molasses. And the pumpkin spices are more subtle than most. I appreciate that. There's nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla, & pepper that are noticeable. It's my first pumpkin beer of the fall. I don't love them, but every year I just have to have a few, and this was a good start.

An excellent West Coast Pale Ale with quite an impressive, bitter and resinous hoppiness for the ABV, complemented nicely by some sweet and slightly spicy barley and rye malt. They could probably work on their can art though...

Starting with some Nelson. Modern Times isn't getting enough credit for this one. As I've stated before, this is Nelson done properly. So many people eff it up. Cheers!

While I've had much worse, this still somewhat suffers from the typical deficiencies of a TIPA that is not exceptionally well done. Muddled, overripe hop notes, overly sweet and with a noticeable, somewhat sharp, booziness that develops in the aftertaste.

One more See Foam for today.... And this is largely irrelevant, but I love this can. The colors are perfect and it really stands out on the shelf.
