Taste is where it shines, rich malt, and mostly malt, through mid palate where the hops march forth. Hops through to the finish with lingering malt and hops in the aftertaste with hops putting a period at the end of the sentence.

Definitely an Imperial style, this one strikes all the cords right in tune. 8% and 80 IBUs, this one could've been a bruiser but it isn't, surprisingly agile like a large man who turns out to be a graceful dancer.

Perfect day here. Sunny and 74 degrees. Will fire up the grill soon for some burgers. Might throw on a couple brats to go with some more festbiers. Cheers!

Trying a new beer today. A Dogfish Head Stout. Wood-Aged Bitches Brew. I am impressed. The bitterness is so righteous in the complexity of this beer. Bottled 11/30/18.
And an Angel's share for the wife.

Wow that sounds painful, glad she is ok. We have been here for close to two hours and neither one of us has ordered a Bodhi. Three years ago you’d drink a keg of bodhi dry if you could find it.

A random doodle done over the past week that I didn’t think meant anything but since @MUTINY walked in the Virtual Bar today, I will dedicate it to him!

    Cheers!

Thanks; she just kinda stumbled down one step.
My wife and I were just talking about Bodhi the other day. I bought a four pack last week at Giant Eagle up here that was 6 days old!

Dark amber body topped with a one-finger thick head (pretty good for a 15.0% or so beer). Decadently rich aroma; heavy sweetness counterpointed with a roasted grain and dark caramel char; almost smokey. Intense malt sweetness offset with a fine, boozy presence; elements of fermented raisins and other dark pitted fruits; caramel and licorice; anise. Heavy body; thick and syrupy; a lot of alcohol heat; warm and sweet mouthfeel.

This monster delivers the goods! Rich and boozy with a bold malt sweetness wrestling with tempering the alcohol presence. It's a beautiful tag team free for all for your senses. God, I love this beast...

...time to celebrate...gave my boss my three month notice (yeah, it's a way off, but I like the dude and his business). So, what does that mean come January 1st, 2020? Full retirement, baby! I've been getting my military retirement for over 15 years and just started drawing my social security payments earlier this year. There may be a few less bucks in the wallet, but I'll have plenty of free-time for reading, bicycle touring, target shooting, and photography...and there's quality time with Mrs. Goot who fully retired earlier this year...
