    Good day BAs! It's a lovely totally dark day here in New Braunfels so far - my brother and I are going shooting 50 cals today - his Beowulf and my Desert Eagle. Muzzle flash ought to lighten things up a bit. Today's New Breakfast Beer isn't technically a new beer - I had it before, back on 6/11/13, but never reviewed it ('cause I wasn't in BA then).



    Very much better than my notes and memory had it.

    Good morning, all! This is one of the new-to-me Oktoberfest beers I picked up in Wisconsin this past weekend: Oaktober, from Karben4, Madison, WI. If you like lots of malty goodness, this one's for you. Pours a deep burnished cherrywood color, with big aromas and flavors of dark bread and caramel, with earthiness and peppery spice and a bit of oaky tannin on the finish. Prost!

    Southern Prohibition Altered Beast IPA

    Taste on entry is sweet caramel malt with enough citrusy hops to notice but the feel is of balance between grain and malt. Good hop flavor with a noticeable lack of bitterness. I think the sweetness may also be toning down the hop bite as well. It's not a marked sweetness, just something that rounds things out.

    This post made my morning. I am easily amused...

    I went to the liquor store down the street just to see what was there. Not much for craft, but cold singles of MGD. My 950th beer here and 36th AAL.

    Looks and smells great. I am not digging the vegetable, tangy, watery taste. I've definitely had worse though. Cheers all & enjoy your Wednesday!

    Spent a good part of the morning at DMV so now decompressing with Eyes Without A Face. This beer is drinking so much better at 3 weeks than 3 days old. Cheers!

    My wife brought a six pack of these home in July. She was "saving" one for a friend. Friends don't serve friends three month old IPAs...

    It's not bad, but it's not what I reviewed on July 22nd either. I'm glad they are dating their bottles now. I'm always on the lookout for Brew Kettle, Columbus & Jackie O's when I visit Ohio. Probably headed back in a couple weeks if work doesn't throw me a curve ball. Cheers all!

    Going to be sipping on this one for a while. Glad I got to try it but I don't think I'll be picking up more than one the next time around. Lord help me if Triple Two Hearted becomes a thing...
