This makes me think of Pineapple on Pizza... I don’t care who says what, it’s a valid topping!

From what I’ve read and discussed with others, I’m intrigued enough to give it a chance!

Original owner of this bottle. I believe this was a 2011 Reserve Society release. This beer is still an amazing barrel aged example of Bruery excellence. Talk about standing the test of time...this bottle hasn’t skipped a beat. Tons of bourbon barrel presence, raisin, dark fruit, caramel, leather. The slightest bit of oxidation has crept in but almost lends a nice, supporting presence to the deep barrel and caramel flavors. [IMG]

100% Coton & Cuir are some of the best beers The Bruery has ever made. It’s a testament to what can be done without adding additional flavors post fermentation/aging.

I have a 100% rye Papier that's been fridge kept since it released. I'll be opening it up in November and I'm really hoping it held up as well as 100% Coton and Cuir has.

I was a little surprised at the quick turn. Especially since it was a Friday ship and I didn't know that GSO does Saturday delivery. Had it shipped to my business address, which was closed. So I didn't get it until today.

Surprised that you didn't get notification. I always get an email at 8-9pm the night it ships. I never check my emails after work, so I'm not actually aware it's due to arrive until 8am the morning it is actually due to arrive. I had to call GSO on Saturday Morning to make sure the driver wasn't just going to leave it at the door.

Beautiful package job by The Bruery. Excited to try. Probably start with Spicy Island as well.

I opened the Blueberry Pancake this weekend, smells exactly like a blueberry muffin to me and the taste was blueberry overload. I really enjoyed the beer but could see many people sitting on that beer to see how the blueberry mellows out over time.

Just got the shipping notification for my box. Really excited to start drinking them tomorrow but I’m not getting my hopes up. The last 2 shipments gso was not able to get them to me in NorCal overnight.

Any more thoughts on the beers? Even untapped doesn’t have a lot of reviewes yet.

Man, you guys are already getting your BT boxes !? I thought I could get mine in DC with the quickness too since they sent an oddly specific email stating "Order by 10/9 || Pickup 10/19" which I assumed to mean "order BT immediately and we will hustle it onto the truck that leaves the next day"... Sweet!

Except they purposely didn't open up the BT sale until 10/10. LOL. Reading is not my forté, clearly

Opened a Spicy Island last night and I thought it was really good. Maybe not world class, but I enjoyed it a lot. Definitely a pineapple bomb. Very juicy and sweet. The most prominent component, but not overpowering or cloyingly sweet. It's about all you get on the nose with hints of bourbon. It's present throughout the sip. The BT comes out in the middle of the sip. Chocolate, bourbon, dark fruit, and charred oak are present then. If you've ever had chocolate dipped pineapple, it's similar. It isn't until after the swallow do I detect the pepper. A hint of smoky habanero and a slight tingle on the sides of the tongue.

If I had to nitpick, the pineapple could have been dialed back just a hair to let more of the base come out.

Yep, I’m 4 hours nw of Chico and it’s on route for delivery right now. Now I have to decide which one to drink tonight haha. It’ll either be the pineapple or blueberry.

Haha, just trying to avoid that classic BT hangover. I hate that thing. Maybe I will open both then stopper them to finish tomorrow.

    Shipping question-
Does anyone know why it costs $10 to ship 16 cans from Offshoot but $18 to ship 16 cans from Bruery? This is the first time I have shipped cans from Offshoot (I know it is free to members but I am wondering about everyday pricing)

I assume it's an incentive to move the Offshoot product quickly. It's not that they incur less cost, it's that they're willing to accept lower margins.

There's also a margin part of the equation on the brew/package stage, that's worked into the shelf price, but can be backed out when they are thinking "okay we made it now we need to sell it"

The Offshoot cans take a matter of weeks to make
Whereas the Bruery Cans definitely take months to years (might be a couple quickies in there but you know what I'm saying)

Overall they need to get Offshoot ones to consumer asap too whereas the canning date don't really matter on the Breuery ones (for the most part).

Shipping is free to members? I missed that. I remember a promo early on where they did a free shipping release. But is this a standard now? I haven't ordered Offshoot directly. Just pick up the occasional relax and retreat locally.
