Bell's Side Yard. Fantastic NEIPA. Lasting rocky head retention/thick foamy lacing. Opaquely hazy green color. Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, mango, melon, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate wheat, cracker, white bread dough, toasted biscuit malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; balanced creamy/bready/grainy malts and sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing resin dryness, no hop astringency. Very smooth, nicely soft, not overly aggressive, minimal warming 6.8%. Fantastic fresh Chinook showcase. Extremely vibrant, dank, earthy, and fairly juicy hops; with a nice sized wheat/oat/malt backbone. Mild residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. Would have preferred some new world hops in there, but they nailed what they were going for with the style.

    Good morning BA
Sixpoint beers used to be an automatic 4/6 pack purchase for me. Now I buy singles...

Pretty good IIPA. I don't care about haze, I just like balance. This beer is nicely bittered and smells good, but has no malt presence. I remember driving all over town for 4 packs of Puff a few years ago. The beer world changes fast.

I'll be watching my son's high school soccer team play a semi-state game at 3pm in 66 degrees and pouring rain. Very likely to be back after that. Cheers all!

I love how River Roost isn’t afraid to dial up the bitterness. Screw sweet ipas, this is the shit.

Taste on entry is a delightful melange of sweet malt and vibrant hops. Beautifully balanced and complex. Malt has the depth of a slice of Death by Chocolate cake yet remains almost restrained, as if it's so confident it doesn't have any need to show off. Hops are there in abundance with brightness and vibrancy equal to the intensity of the malt. Ripe fruit hop elements emerge more fully yet stay within bounds. By mid palate I'm getting some of the herbal influence in the hops which acts as seasoning rather than a flavor. Everything just works so well together.

I don't buy sixpoint anymore - every since Shane just up and left without a word to his fans despite how much we supported him especially here on BA. And the whole merger thing and such.

Sixpoint has made some great beers since then though. Key Lime Raspy is one of my favorite beers of the year. Shane is a great dude and a big loss, but damn they are still making some good shit.
