I did it again. Breakfast beer, with breakfast. Cheers. Like this better now, 5 months after canning, mellowed, relaxed and totally digging it. Despite the lactose.

 

This album brings back many fine memories from my high school days..thank you, sir!

 

Yep. I just unloaded my camper full of stuff at the new place. An errand to run, then it will be beer/lunch time. Cheers!

 

Same here. Album came out while in high school. The record and 8track got a lot of play!

 

There may not be a better buy in its style for the price point- $11.99 a bomber.

Home for lunch and a new to me Belgian quad - Val Dieu’s Grand Cru:



Poured at 49 degrees, a frothy rocky beige head three fingers thick sits atop dark brown liquid; good clarity under a long lasting cap; heavy lacing; thin legs. Sweet raisins and a whiff of clove in the nose. Taste follows nose; sweet dried fruit, raisins, prunes; plums and pears; caramel, fig, tobacco and leather as beverage warms. Crisp medium body; medium plus carbonation; some warmth from 10.5% abv. Overall an enjoyable, well balanced ale up there with TR10, etc., flavors wise, but not as chewy or as complex. Would definitely drink again.

Medium yellow color with white cap and lacing.

Moderate aroma of Noble hops with underlying clean grain. Nice floral hit with some sweetness as well.

Tastes are simple and basically your garden style Euro Lager. Elements of hops and sweet grain are present but there are some unrefined bitter edges that, while slight, are enough to mar the taste experience.
