Well folks, a little while back I sent @JBowenGeorgia a small flat rate box with some DFH 120 and WWS, because some wrong minded people in Georgia think they are protecting the children is they limit the ABV of beer.

ANYWHO... today John responded in a most inequitable way.

Cheers good sir! I still believe those DFH 120s(that my facilities manager asked if I could aquire) played a role in my finally getting to go to 1st shift after almost 13 years of working 2nd shift. I still owe you for getting to live on a 'normal' schedule.

 

Time for mystery beer #2 courtesy of @Franfab . And yes I broke my rule aagin....was another night of trick-o-treating...haha


Look: Pours a dark brown, but fills the glass a pitch black. Held up to light none escapes anywhere. Head was almost non-existent.

Nose: Vanilla and sweetness. No barrel that I can pick up, so not thinking it was aged in any type of barrel

Taste: Vanilla bomb!!! No other adjunts that I can detect. Plenty sweet, and just a faint bite from the abv on the back end. Sip coats the touge, but not overly so. Get a tad bit of tobacco and leather in the aftertaste as well.

Guess: For sure a vanilla stout, non barrel aged. No clue on brewery since I am not familiar with many breweries who do this in a 12oz can. I would have said Prairie Artisan Ales if it had been a 12oz bottle....

Got the vanilla right. This was aged in barrels so I didnt detect that, but to be fair the vanilla dominated the beer....

I actually had this beer on draft at Wiley Roots last Black Friday when I picked up some cans they were releasing. At that time I didnt care for it. This has to be a new batch, because this was excellent!!! Thanks @Franfab for the brew. We only get out to Greeley once a year to visit my Mother-In-Law and to celebrate our anniversay(always go up to Breck). They pump out some great stuff from that area!!
