I stated a few weeks ago that the best part of this Costco mixed case might be dusting off my German glassware. This is a favorite style for me so here we go...

A passable, yet simple take on the style. My highest rating yet from this box. Music from the drive home this morning...

Up and dark beer at 'em! Deschutes Obsidian Stout. Feeling like a villain (?)

 

Looks tasty but how is it actually tasting?

 

Pretty basic. Medium amount of Beachwood smoke and little else, but no huge flaws. Reading reviews of those who tasted the actual craft brewed product from Germany sounded better. Reviews from the 2018 contract brewed calendar beers sounded much worse than what I experienced. The shotty contract brewing has to be the most disappointing part of the pack.

 

Happy Wednesday ba. Another random week day off so I'll join in with @bowzer4birdie with some hop juice. Plenty of this on the shelves here and I already grabbed two packs.

 

Is that 10/16 also?

Right along on this shit ba. Southdown stout, coffee stout- this is the hazelnut variant, from Sand City. I don't like it as much as the coconut variant but it’s still pretty decent and flavorful,

 

I listened to Cobham, BA, and changed it up: BB stout with coffee, cinnamon, nutmeg, habaneros. BOOM!
