What Beer Are You Drinking Now? #2575

Hope everyone is having a great start to their weekend. Just back from taking the dogs for a walk in the woods after getting home from work. Having to take a headlamp with me with it getting dark so early. First up is a New Belgium Nitro Cold Brew Cream Ale. The nitro creaminess and roasted coffee in this complimented by the light but welcomed hop presence all work well together. Cheers from the Smokies y’all!

Hope everyone had a good Friday. Went by pretty fast. Pretty quiet in the emails all day. 3 day weekend for us now.

Rochester Mills Imperial Maple Milkshake Stout. This was awesome. Great rocky head retention/spotty soapy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, maple syrup, brown sugar, wood, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark bread/crust; with lighter notes of licorice, molasses, raisin, fig, date, smoke, charcoal, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate herbal, woody, grassy, peppery, roast, charred bitterness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and medium-full body; very creamy, silky, velvety, bready malts; some sticky hops and chalky roast in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering hop/char bitterness. No cloying, acrid, astringent. Very smooth/soft, minimal warming 8.25%. Awesomely rich and well rounded malt, maple syrup, lactose, and cocoa nib flavors; with nice earthy hop presence/balance, and restrained fruity yeast. Light residual sweetness with lingering dryness. Very impressive. 4.1
