I got one on Thursday:

Three more great looking sours from Speciation! Wow.
Ob.liv.i.ous - a barrel-aged wheatwine (!) from Griffin Claw
Before the Dawn - a barrel-aged black barleywine from Steel Toe
With the Currant - a barrel-soured black ale with blackcurrants from Barrel + Beam
Dave's Barrel-Aged Barleywine from ANGRY CHAIR!!!! This looks amazing!

After last week's damage, this just blew me away. I have never received quality and quantity of incredible beer from one human being and I was just dumbfounded.

But...it turns out that I was supposed to receive two boxes from Brian the madman. Sadly, it appears that one unlucky box received the Myles Garrett copycat crime treatment from someone at USPS and this showed up at my doorstep last night:


It took me a minute to actually find a completely soaked-through box inside this sad nutsack-shaped parcel:



It appears that there were at least 4 casualties:

Only I Didn't Say Fudge
Central Waters Twenty One
Kuhnhehn 4D Olde Ale

Damn!!

However, there were five miraculous survivors! I carefully placed these beautiful, sticky bottles in the refrigerator for safe keeping.


Wulver is one of my longest wants on BA and I am pumped!
Everything I've had from Kuhnhehn has been incredible, and I can't wait to tear into this Solstice Stout and this BA American Imperial Stout!
This BA Imperial Dark Lager from Wolverine looks fantastic!
And this Vietnamese Coffee BA Imperial Porter from No Rules will likely put the finishing touches on my liver.

Brian is crazy and I am not bothered by that. His generosity is off the charts. Thanks again Brian!

Sorry to subject you to that one! It was definitely way too minty. The ingredients are just way too weird not to do it as a mystery beer.

Secondly I'm sitting on the couch singing 99 bottles of beer on the wall lookimg at that first post. My wife and son are considering having me committed. It is quite the interesting conversation they are having.

Final call for my birthday trip LIF. I can’t remember who all has already submitted guesses but have a list somewhere and will post it later. We leave Thursday so I’ll close things down Wednesday night

Reminder: guesses are for the location of the trip with a tie-breaker of the first brewery we visit. @Buck89 and @Snrubnivek have not guessed a brewery, so at least one of them will want to do so.

I was just looking back over my wants list and realized that the boxes I received this round just gave it an overhaul. It will definitely need to be updated soon. Y’all are amazing. Very thoughtful and generous people!

Blind beer from @CanConPhilly labeled a very unusual blind beer. Pours a cloudy deep yellow with a one inch white head. Aroma screams IPA with sweet malts. Tastes of tangerine, orange peel, a sweetness that is not honey but is similar, sweet malt presence and a hint of mango. So my guess is an IPA brewed with honey. Reveal coming soon.

 

Definitely examine the can carefully after you unwrap it.
