Duvel... such a treat, which I purposely rarely buy anymore.

At a new brewery in N. Brantford CT. I was out in the cold all daydoing the last of the leaves so I decided to have a stout. Don't like them sweet but this one's almost to dry for me. Getting better as I sip.

Dank and dreary Saturday, so a beer from @ovaltine. Revolution Brewing Deth by Plums. 11.7 abv, tons of dark fruit, oatmeal, Italian plums, viscous, there’s just the slightest twist of sour at the finish that lightens the whole experience. This really a great stout, I’d easily prefer this one over BC, it finishes beautifully. But mostly it just doesn’t come across as overbearingly sweet, it starts sweetish then it finishes a bit lighter which I didn’t expect. This one is close, and I’m far from a big stout guy, but the EC 20 yr old Eclipse was all fruit and raisins, boozy. That was a special beer , this one is right behind that one, thankfully with no wax and in a 12 oz can.

I liked it. Very sweet and syrupy, boozy of course.

While this is good, I wish they would just do coffee only and offer it every year *shrug*

At Two Ton Brewing in Kenilworth NJ, Field Artillery a Russian Imperial Stout. An excellent brew from a very under the radar brewery.

Taste is a marvelously complex combination of lively spice scents, primarily clove, with ripe yellow fruit along with the banana. This seemingly simple combination grows richer as the glass is emptied building progressively more flavor along the way. Just a bit of tartness, no real hop presence which it doesn't need anyway and a lingering richness that still remains dry. A dry desert beer perhaps.

Having this one rather fresh, at less than 2 months old, and it's fascinating how hoppy it is for a weizenbock. Still rather well-balanced and very enjoyable.

2010 bottle. Other than the noticeable vinous taste, it is drinking fine.

Yes, Holy Craft (the shop). Could not carry more than two cans with me yesterday afternoon

Today when I switched trains near Dusseldorf Alt-Stadt I checked out Holy Craft cafe. Expected to be crowed, like the streets around the shops and the U-Bahn (imagine a very dark black Friday).
To my surprise I could walk in and even sit down and read a paper. Had a Schnee-Eule (awesome for a light beer) and a Frau Gruber Collapsing Dreams. That one felt just a tiny bit boozy (8% abv).I'll open the canned version later tonight to compare
    Thanks and cheers!
