In CLT airport on my way home. Ordered some sushi and an IPA, this ain’t an IPA but I’m not caring at the moment.

 

Coming from bourgeois/stuffy Seattle the sushi looks pretty good, loosely rolled but tasty.

It’s hard for me to go through CLT airport and not get one of these. 1/9/20 batch and it’s tasting good.

 

Pfriem Pilsner. A great session beer.

 

Finally got around to order some food. Ordered the same beer as the beef cheeks been braised in.

Sons of Nuns by Warpigs, 5.5% ABV porter. A bit too heavy with all the smoked meat but none the less a great beer.

 

Making me hungry and I just ate.

Another good Charlotte beer

 

Poured into a 16 oz Snulip glass canned on 1/6/20. Pours a hazy orange, with a 2 plus finger sticky white head that leaves a thick wall of lace behind with excellent retention. 4.25

Smell melon, papaya, pineapple, apricot, and a hint of grapefruit rind. 4

Taste follows melon, papaya, pineapple, tangerine, apricot, and a little grapefruit bitterness in the bold finish. 4

Mouthfeel is bigger than average, soft gentle carbonation, sticky not dry, and at 8.5% goes down dangerously easy. 4.25

Overall a nice beer and it almost feels like if I let it hang in the can another week it may be even better. A little green maybe, but rock solid stuff. 4

 

First beer in a week. Fighting influenza, but hey I lost all the weight I gained during the holidays.

Another work day down, one more til the weekend! Went on a bit of an online shopping spree after seeing several glasses around here that I wanted to add to my collection. I've seen this glass on several threads here, and it was available online! Breaking it in with a can of Pulp from rar. They're just starting to put a few more of their former brewery-only beers into distro and Pulp is among the first drop. Canned on 1/08 and quite fantastic.
