It's no Natty Daddy but this will do...

 

Hubbard's Cave Päncake Walk Imperial Stout, 12% ABV. Pours deep murky brown, thick, with a middle-finger of brown head. Nose is strong maple syrup and chocolate, taste follows, VERY sweet but just short of cloying, with almost no bitterness. Excellent mouthfeel, overall outstanding to near-world-class. Folks who love pastry stouts need to try this one, and folks who don't should stay away.

I admit it, I'm a sucker for pastry stouts.

 

This is a solid brew. not great, but solid. I'm not getting a lot of chilie flavor. Maybe after it warms a little...

Sad night. Last beer sent by @beergoot . Big West. A DIPA brewed by Modern Times. Dude, I loved them all.

 

I may have sat on this one a little too long. Bottled in January of ‘16. It was one of those bombers I meant to drink a few times but then put it down and drank something else. It’s good. Dark chocolate and a bit of smoky char, but it’s pretty thin and while it’s insanely smooth, there’s no bite whatsoever. Oh well, science.

Moving on to a little Ghost in the Machine. Our oldest daughter lives in NOLA and is in grad school at Tulane. So easy to forget that it's Marti Gras parades week. Tonight's parades were canceled due to in-climate weather (high winds), a rarity for the parades.

Well, I guess I got my second wind.....
