Made a provisions & beer run yesterday, I'm now hunkered down for at least a week. Not much traffic, not many people out 'n about, no surprise there.
Something new for me today, not much barrel here, but it has everything that makes a RIS my favorite beer. As an unknown great American philosopher once said, " enjoy what's in your glass". Stay safe everyone!

Being safe and staying home allows one to go deep into one's beer fridge. This is the 2016 release and it still tastes delicious!. The coffee may have fallen off a bit but not much. Cheers BA!

First Aldi beer I've purchased. Octopi Hopping Nomad. Excellent session IPA. Lasting rocky head retention/foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, honeydew melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine hops; with moderate cracker, toasted biscuit, light caramel malts; and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body, and fairly crisp finishing. Balanced bready/grainy malts, and sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing resin dryness, no hop astringency. Very smooth, pretty refreshing, zero warming 4.5%. Feels like Centennial, Chinook, Simcoe hops. Very vibrant, dank, earthy, fairly juicy hops; with a nice bready malt backbone for the ABV. Mild residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. Very impressive classic tasting IPA. No complaints. 4.03

Starting today 'lockdown' is a thing in Belgium...

Luckily i'm locked down with some vintages! One vintage a day to keep everything cheerful. Starting today: Cantillon CSG.

Howdy all - hope your Wednesday is feeling a bit normal.
Had to take the car in today (appointment made in January, pre-stuff started happening).
Tele-commuting and mostly paperwork this morning, got a run in way early this morning.
Now for some Zonker. And some music... cheers!

just stopped by DeCicco's supermarket in Millwood and picked up a fresh 4 of this.....
the store had a 'limited customer access' policy in effect - customers waiting in line, 6ft
apart (good) - being allowed in only after a previous customer leaves (good) - there were only about 8 people waiting in line (good) - and customers were offered disposable gloves by the employees monitoring the line (good) - their exceptional beer aisle was fully stocked (great!)-
the parking lot was littered with dozens of discarded gloves (horrible!)
sorry for not taking pics of all this....

A lot of folks scoff at Yuengling. I wish they distributed here on the left coast, every time I go visit my parents in Pinehurst my first stop is Food Lion to grab a couple cases.

Went through the refrigerator and beer cellar, and for the next several days will be rescuing beers that are past their best days.

    First pour

Bottled 7/11/19, here is my review when this was fresh poured 9/6/19:

Bronze tan clear pour, heavy carbonation, creamy bubbly one inch head gives good lacing. Pine, grassy and sweet aroma. Excellent balanced taste, somewhat dry, bitter pine. Hops balanced by honey and grassy floral and caramel taste. Bold and excellent. Carbonation lasts throughout, creamy mouth feel, full body. Easy drinking, ABV (8.2%) manageable, slightly bitter aftertaste. Overall excellent IPA offering. 4.25 / 3.75 / 4.5 / 4.25 / 4.25.

Today's pour had nominal carbonation, with a nominal head and lacing. Tastes ok, but not as bold. Honey and floral aroma and tastes remains. Didn't see First Kiss on 3 Sheep's website as a seasonal, home these aren't the last First Kiss' we will see and that these will be brewed again this summer.

Chili Man chili with beans, Tabasco, pepper, cheddar and bleu cheese, garlic salt. Worked well. Two small baked potatoes and two garlic bread slices complete my meal for the day.

Stay safe and stocked with great beers, and leave no stale beer behind!
