This I definitely agree with. I actually feel like alot of these super hoppy IPAs taste better after some time and the flavors can meld.

Yup, same here. I dragged stuff home in suitcases, and it’s tasted just as good, or better, than on tap.

'Afternoon, BAs. Today is an odd day,(we're on an odd/even thing here) so got out to jump a friend's dead van battery, & batten down the hatches at work . The monsoon just passed through, ~6hrs behind schedule, & not as bad as advance-billing. Did have to go inside for the pic, as my glass was threatening to blow over.
Pearl 6% APA . It's nothing special, but is easy-drinking & enjoyable. To what's in your glass! Cheers!

Well theres alot of differing opinions on that one. Most hop heads will say anything over 4-6 weeks is fading and that 2 day old is much better. I think it depends on the brew- Ive had some great ones in both categories. I mean Kimmich says 90 Days is perfect for his brews and well they are pretty good frkn beers.... got 2 4pks of Alchemist in my fridge now.

This is surprisingly fantastic. I can't believe it has no calories. It tastes like an IPA!

I think it varies wildly from brewery to brewery also. The two Julius I had about two weeks apart, one two weeks old and one four, were different beers altogether. Wheras a triple IPA by Other Half was pretty much the same a month apart. I don’t worry about it too much.

I just finished making 80+ .308 Win Service Rifle rounds out in the 'Fortress of Solitude', so after playing with gun powder and explosives, it's time to kick back with a fine, fine imperial coffee stout...

Perennial Artisanal Ales -- Coffee Stout with Dark Matter Coffee

    4.44/5 rDev -0.7%
    look: 4.5 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 4.5 | feel: 4.5 | overall: 4.5

Opaque black sheen to the body; one-finger thick dense and creamy tan head. Deep aromas of roasted and charred grains; roasted coffee beans; chocolate. Huge flavors of baker's chocolate, roasted grains, dark roast coffee; sweetness is muted with slightly acrid bitterness; well-hidden booziness. Heavy body; rich, oily, sludgy; chewy residual sugar presence; alcohol warmth permeates throughout.

What an amazing and heady imperial stout. The coffee is rather quiet yet does a nice job of accentuating the heavy malt sweetness. And it always is a pleasure to have a high ABV beer that not only has a lasting head, but leaves descending rings of foam along the glass. Beautiful depth and complexity lurks within this beer's depths.

...and still going through my recently acquired 8-disc boxed set of Hank Mobley (currently on disc 6)...it's been a rare all-day snow so far with a measured 6 inches plus at noon and more snow to come throughout the evening...nice spending the morning inside watching movies and the early afternoon in the 'Fortress of Solitude'...social distancing at its finest...
