While I agree it sounds weird, I thought Black Tuesday Raspberry Cheesecake at the Black Tuesday party last year was really good.

Will have to wait and see how a scaled down version is.

Opened up this year's BT Reserve and it's great. Super smooth given how fresh it is (just like the 18 BT was). Very boozy but not harsh. Basically equal parts bourbon and malt. It's still got a good body to it too and not too thinned out.

Had a 100% ba Cuir last night, tasted great, flavors of dark fruits and burnt sugar

Had a Bois New American Oak last night that was drinking mighty fine as well. Raisins, figs, prune, and lots of oak. I definitely want to dip into some of the other Bois variants now to see how they're holding up.

Has there been any mention of regular Chocolate Rain this year yet? I feel like its usually out by now.

I've been having my first Mocha Wednesday experience today/yesterday. This is the 2019 version, and damn if it isn't the best day of the week I've had so far! I had kinda been out on the BT variants lately, but this has re-piqued my interest.

Should we expect a 2020 version of MW, or should I hold out hope for a re-release of 2019?

Cracked open a Black & Blue BBLs and a More Room for More last night. The Black & Blue BBLs had a nice mellow tartness, great mouthfeel and still packs a punch, very good overall. The More Room for More still a huge peach and nectarine bomb, from the awesome smell after cracking open the bottle to the first and last sip, really tasty and easy drinking.

Mocha Wednesday has historically been released early in the year, like January.

I was assuming Soie Reserve would be two-year aged like with BT, but looks like it's actually Maderia barrel Anniversary? Unless it's bourbon and Maderia, which sounds weird?

Also, if it's two-year, shouldn't it actually be Acier Reserve?

I had a Brandy Bois last week and it was so money. I really hope the Bruery isn't totally walking away from Anniversary variants, I know they aren't amazing sellers but from someone who loves stuff like the BA Old Stock Cellar Reserve (but can never find them) these are the best show in town.

We don't need 8 variants every year but maybe the bourbon + 3 others. I wouldn't even mind if they were sold as a "set" (ala BT10?) since the Bourbon version probably has the best long term aging potential anyways.

I genuinely am looking forward to seeing what these beers taste like 10-20+yrs after packaging - other than lambic I'd like to think these have to have the best chance of still tasting good (I've given up on stouts after ~8yrs, soy sauce bleh). I wouldn't even mind if they got spiked with a lil Brett, though I presume that would have shown up already if it had gotten in.

I agree 100% with you, I always look forward to having a variant of the anniversary beer. If you went with bourbon, maderia and scotch as the variants i'd buy that set every year. I threw the scotch in there because it adds a nice change of pace from the others, or you could rotate in a red wine barrel.

Isn't Soie Reserve an anniversary variant?

Sounds like it, I missed that a couple posts up

Is that HS only? I find no mention of it in my lowly RS email

With the "Reserve" tag, I would be surprised if it was simply a standard variant. I wouldn't say disappointed, because I typically really like the anniversary variants, but they have thus far used the Reserve tag to mean something other than a barrel variant. Something like 2-year in multiple barrels would be closer to expectations, for me.
