I think that one last about 15 minutes. They might want to consider lowering the maximum individuals can buy. I'm not buying more than two of anything right now.

I would love to learn how their algorithms work and I wish there was the option to say more / less like this one. I need some barleywines before my crate ships.

I've been using Tavour since October - have received a monthly crate from them since. And it's only been over the past 6 weeks or so (since the COVID crisis started shutting things down in this country) that beers will go quickly, within hours, and "Sold Out" is listed instead of "Waitlist Me." I've always been happy with their selection as I'm on the lookout for breweries that don't distribute here - my original reason for signing up was to look for Toppling Goliath beers, specifically.

I did also try the 6-pack subscription add-on before, got some stouts and IPAs but since I didn't want repeats I just pick my own beers now from their offerings and skip the subscription.

I have a crate on the way that I'm waiting patiently for, but of course there have been a few additions to the app that I knew were going to drop right after I closed my box. Ghost In The Machine will continue to elude me. Anyway, I can't stop checking the app for the daily additions and today something jumped out at me. Our own @Roguer's review being quoted to help sell BBA Beer Geek Vanilla Shake. It's sold out, so I hope they're paying you commission, man!

Wait what? lol that's rich (so is the beer; ridiculously rich)

Re: Ghost, hit me up if you're looking for a trade. I just picked up some on Friday, bottled less than a month ago, for another trade (also to PA, funny enough), and I have enough to go around.

    (Also, no, no commission.)

I haven’t ordered from Tavour in ages. When I used to order, it was because they were selling highly acclaimed beers I couldn’t get in NYC. However, there are quite a few beers I once bought from Tavour that are now distributed in NYC. Thus, why should I pay an extra steep shipping fee when I can get it at a local bottle shop?

So they didnt ask for permission to use your intellectual property? Interesting.

The one thing I did not think was expensive was the shipping, unless that changed.

    Enjoy

I think - and I'm not 100%, but I think - that part of our terms and conditions on BA is that our contributions (reviews, ratings, pictures) become the intellectual property of BA. Therefore, any company that has license from BA to use their ratings (however their process works) might have free reign to quote our reviews, as well. I don't know what agreements are in place, or necessary.

@Todd could you weigh in on that, perhaps? I assume anything I post publicly is, well, public - but technically, everything on BA belongs to BA, not necessarily the public domain. If there's some process a company should be following with BA, that's less a concern for me as a private individual, and more making sure BA isn't being sideswiped.

We don't license our content for use by others, nor do we currently have any plans to do so, but there's really nothing stopping someone from quoting content that's displayed publicly here and there.

If they're scrapping our site and storing our data...that's a different story.

Not to start something but the majority of the tavour descriptions I see include quotes from ratings off BA. I assumed there was an understanding between the two sites.

Nope. First I’m hearing about it. I’ll take a closer look.

I have to say, I got those 2015 vintage Dark Star bottles and I was not disappointed, especially with the Coffee Edition. I used to tend to agree with u about aging stouts with adjuncts such as coffee and chocolate until my friend brought me some 2016 bottles of Breakfast Stout by Founders and OH MY GOODNESS, it changed my life forever. If not for that, I never would have purchased those vintage Fremont bottles. My advice would be to ALWAYS seek out aged bottles of excellent not only BBA stouts, but coffee ones as well. If u can find both in one and it's from Fremont, forget about it!!! (Meaning f'in grab that shit fast!)

I'm going to be taking a break from Tavour for a while. Its soooooo expensive and lately the selection has gone way downhill. There are better selections at my local beer stores with better prices so that's what I'll be switching to for a while. I'm still gonna check the app periodically for TRULY white whales that really interest me but lately I havent found anything

I'm going the other way. Tavour has a ton of out of (my) market beers that don't seem too incredibly marked up. Flat rate shipping is nice. I've got like 28 beers in the box that's set to ship on the 10th. On top of all that, I don't have to put on a mask and get out of my house. Seems like a good deal to me!

had 37 cans delivered on my first purchase last week, and so far I am only impressed with what I was able to snag a can of at similar prices to what I find at specialty shops around the US. shipping was just under $17 for a 35# box - that's far less than I'd have spent on gas running around to my four favorite bottle shops looking for something new to try

Medianoche came up on my tavour today and surprisingly wasn’t sold out by the time I checked. 45 for it but haven’t had it, so grabbed it.

Overall tavour has been good, especially during the rona. The one frustrating aspect is twice my crate has had the beer I was most looking forward to missing. Guess I'll have to get by with all the other good ones I purchased
